If you see a tall bar under the frowny face you know you've got some damage control to do. What an exciting opportunity to turn it into a win by blowing your customers away with an honest, authentic response!

Clicking "Official Response" will designate your answer as the official word from your company or organization by attaching a nifty Official Response banner to your reply. It also keeps it sticky at the top of the page! Just be sure you don't use it on every reply or it may lose it's impact.

If an old topic has a new response, you can uncheck the old official response and mark the new one as "Official Response". You can also begin your response with the word "Update" or the like to indicate that it's new information.

is loving the get satisfaction help site, but thinking its TOO Ajaxian!

It would be helpful to have step by step installation instructions for this on-line, preferably in Wiki format, so that users could post problems and solutions related to their specific configurations.

For Discussions
No status to set for Discussions because, well, they're just discussions.

What does it mean to follow a topic? It means that when there are updates, they will show up in your dashboard and, if you've got the notification set, you will receive an email.

There are a couple ways to follow a topic. You can either do so by chiming in that you feel the same way or just by simply following. Allow me to illustrate:

For Questions
Click the "I have this question, too!" button and not only follow the topic but add to the urgency of the question.


For Ideas
Click the "I like this idea!" button and not only follow the topic but add to the validity of the idea.


For problems
Click the "I have this problem, too!" button and, again, you will be following it AND adding to the sense of urgency about the the problem.


For discussions
Click "Follow this discussion" and you'll do just that.


ALTERNATIVELY....
You can simply follow any type of topic without weighing in on it by clicking the "Follow" tab in the nifty Share & Follow widget on the side of the page. Click the "Follow this..." link and voila!


And don't forget about RSS...

We've made it even easier for you to share topics with friends, colleagues, smart people you know who might be able to answer a seemingly impossible question...with our handy Share widget over on the side of the page.

You can either email the topic to a friend and add a short note or post it to a variety of social networks and social bookmarking sites.

Having to add each employee in companies is irritating. It would be wonderful to just send email saying "sign up and follow the company", and then go down the list of followers and tick off the ones that are employees, rather than individually sending invitations. Especially if they have already joined and are not showing their email address.

so i was having this nice convo about iSight for powerbooks and the guy recommended i look at a product from a company called ecamm. so i wanted to reply to him and create a branch to ecamm that might have also linked to my question, but there was no good way to do it. i think this is important because if someone asks a question about a company or product, whereby a good answer relates to another product or company, that should be a branch off of that convo, no? like your associate product and services thing below.

We have companies that are corrently active, but under each company we should add a name and a link of the user who started the question, the last user unsered the OP, and the best answer user.

This will encourage user participation!
