A quick criticism I'd like to levy against your otherwise great service.
It's extremely click-heavy, and sort of a huge pain to navigate.
1. You need to click into every post - then you need to manually scroll all the way to the bottom.
2. Pagination - I need to click into a new page to get the next 6 posts? I don't see a great reason for making it so few. 15-20 seems like it wouldn't come at much cost.
3. Use of back button. Satisfaction is one of the few modern web-apps that relies so heavily on the "back" button to get around. If I'm on page 5 [again, grr] of recent posts - have clicked in to some topic, then manually scrolled to the bottom, the only way I can get back to where I was before is by hitting the back button. There isn't a next or previous topic [requested elsewhere] to help me keep moving along
I know you guys are really trying hard to approach customer service from the perspective of what is best for the customers, and I totally respect that. But most of the time on the site is going to be spent by those answering requests, not those occasionally needing help. For us, things really aren't optimal right now.
This is more of an idea than a problem. Well, more like a pixel-anal problem than an idea. Anyway, you allow the uploading of square images for company and product logos. It'd be awesome if everybody had a logo with a white background but alas. Anyway, as a designer, it bothers me that the logos that do take up the whole box (i.e., http://getsatisfaction.com/brightkite) aren't centered correctly. Specifically having 3 sides of equal spacing and then the bottom being at least half that.
It'd be awesome if this could be addressed. It would make this and a lot of other pixel-anal designers really happy. :)
When I am looking at a company's 'get satisfaction' page, it would be nice if there was a direct external link to the company's website somewhere near the top, near the company logo.
I wanted to add Summize to http://getsatisfaction.com/twitter/to...
and it already exists:
http://getsatisfaction.com/summize/pr...
But when I write "Summize" or "summize" or "Summize Conversational Search for Twitter" into the appropriate field for my question, I get:
"That product or service does not exist yet. Click Plus or press enter to add it!"
I didn't dare pressing enter as I didn't want to create another instance of "Summize"
After a PBwiki Support meeting tonight, I decided to direct this issue to you about the edit timeout that's in place.
While a timeout for the edit button is available for the usual user, a support person's answer may change as their system changes - thus an entirely different answer may apply.
How can we edit these answers? Can some of us gain special privileges for an edit button to appear, or to delete threads?
How do I view companies by category or tag? I realize that most people will come to Get Satisfaction knowing which company or product they want support from/for, but it would be interesting to browse companies listed in Get Satisfaction by their categories, tags. I feel like this should be possible already and that I'm missing something obvious. If there is a way, please point me in the right direction.
So I've been browsing the list of companies on Get Satisfaction and I've spotted a few instances where products were listed as companies.
I don't think it's big deal but it is kind a bit of a PITA to have to go through the motions of becoming an admin. for every product that's mislabeled .
A much easier solution (from the user perspective), would be to simply have the ability to rename companies as products. Maybe implement an open editing policy for products and companies that are unclaimed...
I was trying to mark an idea that I proposed as somehow "implemented" and I just could not see how to achieve this. I've seen somewhere else that it's possible to mark something as solved, but I did not have this option (not even in my questions or problems).
Below is what I see:
So, am I missing something, or is this not an option yet. I was thinking that it might be an option only for problems but I might not see it in the (only) problem I've opened since it doesn't have any replies yet.
If it indeed does not exist, perhaps an ability for the author to mark a question as answered and an idea as implemented would be beneficial.
I've noticed that a number of our customers seem to be adding replies to an existing topic when the things the want to say really should be new topics. Example: Someone just posted a "I'm getting an invalid Zip Code error when trying to check out" reply to a "Where are you hiding your phone number?" topic. (we're working on getting the phone number some better site placement, fyi... ;-) ) I'd really love to be able to take postings like that and promote them to their own topic. Is that some thing we could get in a future release?
Making Tags : I Did it for my listed COMPANY once ... and I can visit those tags but seem to have lost my way so I could TAG some more. Why is this so hard to find?
I really like how you can attach links or images in Facebook and Pownce and think that that would be *so* useful for Satisfaction. Any chance you could think about appending that kind of UI?
This feels like a silly question, but I can't seem to figure out how to add a tag (category) to my company.
For example, I see several other companies that are tagged as "internet," "business," "computers," etc... But how do I add those tags to my own company?
i like the dashboard view that shows me my activity and topics, but didn't easily find how to get back to it once I viewed a topic. i clicked home, and went to satisfaction home, which wasn't helpful to me.
On some good websites which use the hours ago formatting, you can mouseover the words "6 hours ago" and it will give the exact timestamp. I know trac does this, at least.
I'd like to see when exactly 6 months ago is, since that actually has a pretty big range of days it could be.
I can't report fake products or companies. I can't really describe this in more detail.
As a subnote, if a product is real but attributed to the wrong company (like "Time Warner Cable" as a product of "Apple, Inc."), that would be nice to be an option in the report area.
