    Adding/creating a company is confusing! Last reply on December 10, 2007 21:07.

    Get Stratification is a great idea but it can be a bit confusing to grasp. I'd probably looked at the site a dozen times before I decided to go ahead and add my company. The main reason was because I wasn't exactly sure how to get started. I was confused.

    That confusion carried through beyond the initial adding of my company, I think mainly because I wasn't sure how to differentiate a company from an account, etc. I'll try to remember the process.

    It took me quite awhile to find the "Add a company" bit, but that initial form was easy enough to understand. Where I ran into trouble was the real name bit. I guess I was under the impression I was creating an account *for the company* and just "attaching" my name to it. It wasn't really clear to me until I went into the account details that it was more of a "person" and the company could live outside of that. I hope that makes sense.

    I think the whole idea of adding a company could be more straight-forward. I think I get what you're going for with the real-name bit (assuming you can add a company without creating an account) but those good intentions we're just confusing to me.

    I would have loved some more clear verbiage or instructions (maybe it was there and I didn't see it) that indicated that I could add a company without creating an account and/or that if I did create an account that it was for "me" and not "my company."

    Maybe a step by step process would be better. Add the company and then say, "This company has been added. Hey, we noticed you don't have an account! Would you like to create one?" Something like that.

    AccessDeniedError when I click on "Official Response" Last reply on December 03, 2007 23:48.

    I shouldn't even be able to see the "Official Response" checkbox on my own tickets (example: http://getsatisfaction.com/rescuetime...). When I click it, I get an AccessDeniedError. Its nice that I get the error, but I shouldn't even have the option to click on that box if I don't have those permissions.

    preview of new company creation Last reply on December 01, 2007 17:15.

    I added Stokke as a company,
    http://getsatisfaction.com/stokke
    but I goofed with the main logo for the company and choose a logo with additional imagery attached.

    It isn't possible to fix this as a consumer. I'm not associated with the company.

    So a request, show a preview of a new company before creating it. I'd reckon this should be a compulsory stage.

    thanks

    Can I wear more than one hat? Last reply on November 22, 2007 17:07.

    I don't _just_ work for my company and I want to be able to use Satisfaction as just a plain-old regular Joe.

    Can I have more than one e-mail address tied to my profile? That way, I can tie my work e-mail to stuff that I say about work. And the rest of the time, I can speak as myself.

    Notification emails could be prettier. Last reply on November 19, 2007 15:25.

    The notification emails I get from you guys are helpful, but their formatting is quite different (and not nearly as aesthetically pleasing) as the rest of your website.

    In particular, the relative sizing of the topic heading and the additional detail text are dramatically different. I'd also like to see a few more line breaks between items (e.g. the "Reply to this topic" and the "Follow this topic" text and links, as well as the topic name and topic link at the top).

    The emails are hard to read in my email app on my computer, and on my Blackberry. Dialing down the text size differences and adding more line breaks would make things much more readable.

    Kudos, however, for keeping them text-based and not using crazy HTML formatting.

    Links on #1 and #2 yellow horizontal bar are pointed to nowhere. Last reply on November 09, 2007 20:39.

    After adding a company, there are some suggestions that we should do things like start a conversation, etc... #1, 2, 3. The #3 is the only one pointing somewhere (/learn). The other two don't go anywhere.

    Updating product/service pics is broken in Safari 3.0.3 Last reply on October 19, 2007 13:36.

    I posted similarly on this before, but this is a specific bug. In Safari 3.0.3 (522.12.1), when you upload a product image, nothing happens. In Firefox, in contrast, the avatar/image is replaced with a status indicator and then is replaced, all AJAX-like. Nothing happens in Safari/Webkit.

    So, instead of just "companies" as distinct types in Satisfaction... Last reply on October 16, 2007 20:09.

    We're thinking there should be four types of companies and organizations that end up on this page, so that we can do things like language tweaks (for example, it doesn't make a lot of sense to call BarCamp a "company," does it?). Right now we're going to go with:

    * Company
    * Organization
    * Club
    * Project

    BarCamp would be a "Project" in this instance.

    What do you all think? Is this enough? Too much? We don't want to over or underspecify it -- like, I don't want to use "group," because that's waaay too broad -- and to us, these four captured every example of a goal-oriented collective we could think of without overly diffusing our intentions for the site. But, we could be wrong! Suggestions?

    (Also, it's not like people can't/won't still hack it anyway, right Thor?)

    Icon feature could be spelled out better Last reply on October 01, 2007 17:29.

    While I was able to find the custom icon feature (under Dashboard), I expected to find it under my account. I would not have bothered with a custom icon had it not been for the cupcake design (ick) that was assigned to my nickname when I posted my first reply. So, I guess my primary idea is to add a link to (and explanation of?) the "Dashboard" in the account info interface page. A related idea is to omit the automatic cupcake and use the universal "X in a box" for first-timers.

    The "collapse topics" view should have a little more information Last reply on September 25, 2007 23:13.

    When viewing the collapsed view, a little more context would be useful... particularly the user icon and name of the submitter... it helps to get a sense for who's responsible for the comment... maybe also a "...days ago" line, so you can also tell the "staleness" of a topic.

    So I was entering tags delicious-style (combined words, no commas) since you supoort delicious by default and now I come to realize that you don't support delicious tagging but comma-separated tags!

    Improve the "Marked as useful" notification Last reply on September 24, 2007 17:25.

    Take a look:

    http://www.flickr.com/photos/factoryj...

    This is the alert after I click "Mark as useful" in the email notification. However, there is no context once I arrive here. It would be useful if you either took me to the comment I'm marking as useful for gave me links: "view comment", "stop following this topic" (basically because I marked the comment useful as it solved my problem).

    I shouldn't be given a link to disassociate a product if I don't have permissions to do so Last reply on September 23, 2007 19:52.

    I added a product called Notifications to a topic, but then realized that it wasn't really a product and that I should remove it. I clicked the link to do so, but apparently because it was the only topic that it was attached to, it gave me this error:

    http://www.flickr.com/photos/factoryj...

    Either I should be able to remove the product so that it has no attached topics, or I shouldn't be given a link to remove a product if I actually can't.

    Account details place confusing! Last reply on September 23, 2007 16:17.

    It's here: http://flickr.com/photos/bunny/142624...

    Basically, clicking on Account should let me easily access my profile details for editing. "Dashboard" is really not the obvious place for that: "dashboard" is "what's going on in my world".

    If you insist on leaving profile editing in the Dashboard, at least provide a clear link to it from the "Account" page.

    ... Time Stamp, Bookmark button

    I'd like to see a few more informational blips on the right side and a way to bookmark posts and topics a la Yelp. It seems like the dashboard is supposed to replace a bookmarking system, but it would be nice to add tags to helpful or interesting posts in the way that Google implements labels.

    thanks for taking the time to decipher that bs^^

    What about I18N? ¿Hablas españ Last reply on September 13, 2007 21:12.

    Do you currently support different languages / locations, or have plans to add this in the future?

    I guess people can write whatever language they want in the comments, but menu options etc. could be configurable.

    Also for some multinational companies it may make sense to be able to split by region if that's how they segment their product offerings.
