I again saw some company products that need some in-depth look from the GetSatisfaction team or some company staff, as they seem senseless and useless to me and certainly aren't a product / service by the company! It's in this case nothing harmful, but just plain stupid somehow.
I'm even wondering how you weren't sued or somehow got some angry mails by someone. :D
Why? Because, erm, don't tried it of course, but what about someone creating some illegal, smud, pr0n or trademark protected products / services just for spamming or illegal actions of maybe just for fun? -.- This could happen, couldn't it?
Of course you could and highly probable do check a lot of company profiles and products, but a "Report this" button maybe including a optional description + drop-down menu field, which could be used by the GetSatisfaction users to directly report an issue would help, wouldn't it?
Just my 2 cents concerning security and content relevance.
Some products don't have companies! For example, Chris Blizzard of mozilla makes whoisi.com on his own time, he's not a company, and it feels weird adding him as one. It'd be neat if products that don't have a company could be added. It's also silly to make a company (Adium) just to add the product (Adium). maybe there's an adium foundation I'm not aware of (I am pretty sure there isn't!) but I have seen often times a company created where there shouldn't be one.
We're about to launch a separate website dedicated solely to one of our product lines. This new product line is very different from existing ones, and is in fact an entirely different division under our parent company.
A major part of this new site will be a support/help section, which we would like to be powered by Get Satisfaction. For a number of reasons, we ONLY want to display support topics on this site which relate directly to our new product, and we do NOT want to show any topics on the other, unrelated products.
Is there a way to do this with the current help center installation? Or should we just hack the PHP to make this work? Any other suggestions?
If I want to see Google's 16 listed products and services, I'd like to be able to see them all in one page on a compact list. Clicking through 4 pages to see 16 services is really a pain.
As Lane saw this morning http://twitter.com/monstro/statuses/8... most people who use Typepad, Movable Type, or VOX don't know they are "products" of the company "Six Apart" rather they think each product is a "company".
Searching for the company "Typepad", "Movable Type", or "Vox" doesn't provide results
What is the best practice for capturing these requests for help?
Can we map companies to products of a company?
Or should we create separate companies for each product?
I'd like to have an option, perhaps as part of the Dashboards > Products & Companies to see an overview of recent activity in all my products. I see that a similar idea was proposed 6 months ago but only the first part was implemented (having the actual page in the dashboard)
Currently, if I want to see new activity with the products I'm using, I have to either visits each product manually, or subscribe to each product's rss feed (and indeed I have for the ones I want to follow). However a quick, on-site way to see new activities would allow people to check out stuff of interest, even without using aggregators or subscribing everywhere under the sun.
I think the overheard feature is great but the results really aren't relevant for us as we're not so much interested in feedback on our company as we are our product. If we could get a results page for products that would be stellar.
I want getsatisfaction for my language: GERMAN please please please ... it's wonderful!
What I mean is: That it needs to be available for german projects :)
What is running behind Getsatisfaction ? On what is it based, or is it totally self programmed ? Sometimes it reminds me on a wordpress backend.
I noticed that an unrelated product named "Dashboard" is now showing under our company category @ http://getsatisfaction.com/twitpic . Is there a way to remove this? It seems to cause confusion with our users. Thanks.
I added 'Southeastern Trains' recently, but when I go to add a problem I have with the service, it asks me what 'product' I want to report it on. My local train company don't really offer a product - but a service. It would be helpful if the UI reflected the fact that not all companies make products, some offer services - some only offer one service (like trains).
I can cope with cognitively mapping 'product' to 'service', but others may find it more difficult.
Somehow users decided that we make a lot of products that we don't really make or are from completely unrelated companies (cf. evernote), or that there is a product called "Zemanta", so now we have zemanta/zemanta .. :) etc.
What I'd like to see is that I would be notified of this new product addition. I use GS through email mostly, and I really don't look at the first page. It would be really great if you just send me an email, telling me I have a new product so I can act on it sooner rather than later.
Is there any way to moderate the "products" my participants have added to my company? It shows that we "make" a bunch of stuff that we really don't and it would be nice to avoid confusion.
Our company has a single product but it seems that someone asking a new question can add their own, which subsequently appears in our official product list!
When I visit the admin area for our company there is no way to disassociate this product. I've also tried removing the product from the question which has the rogue product associated, but I just get an error message saying 'not possible to disassociate this product'.
Please can someone delete this rogue product or explain how I can delete it myself? It's called "my expenses".
I just attempted to update the details for a product i created (/synovel/spicebird), and I got this error message...
"I'm sorry, but an unexpected error occured: ActionController::MissingTemplate"
Though it would allow re-editing of the fields, the dialog box wouldn't accept any other actions past that point.
I created the product but am not connected with the company that makes it, but the company that makes it hasn't claimed the product yet on Getsatisfaction either.
We originally set up some products that we offer as a retail outlet. At the time, the only relationship between a product and company was "makes." Now you have new relationships, but how do I edit that? For example, ChicoBag makes ChicoBags (which the product shows), but it still shows US making them too. I want to enable my customers to discuss them in relation to our customer service and such, but don't want to claim credit for "making" them if I don't have to!
Over at the PBwiki product pages, there's a "PBwiki 2.0" product and a "PBwiki v2" product and they are about the same product. It's obvious that combining these two products into one would make it better in terms of centralizing all the help you could get on one product.
Is there an easy way for product owners to do this?
