I have managed to install help center on my server. But when I hit help/bumsonthesaddle.com/admin.php I get the above error.

Inappropriate? That doesn't sound good. Let me get someone to help you with that.
I’m sorry to hear this
-
Inappropriate?ROhan, so sorry this is taking so long. I am still working on getting someone to give you some support. Will get back to you soon.
Thanks for your continued patience.
-
Inappropriate?ROhan, Can you tell us where you downloaded the Help Center package from? The error you're getting suggests a mangled or out-of-date Help Center bundle.
-
Inappropriate?from the BumsOnTheSaddle account.
Any idea how else I can download this ?
I’m confident
-
Inappropriate?Rohan, can you email me the key that your help center is configured with? It will be in config.php.
scott AT getsatisfaction DOTCOM
-
Inappropriate?$oauth_consumer_key = "firkugskbdiv";
-
I'm on it. Lets see if we can track this down :) -
Inappropriate?Hi Rohan,
I just plugged your API credentials into my locally running copy of Help Center and it ran perfectly. What that means is we need to track down the differences between your setup and mine :)
First, can you look in your DB and see if the site_settings table has data in the oauth_consumer_key and oauth_consumer_secret columns?
Second, what version of php are you running?
Third, where are you hosting Helpcenter at? What's the URL?
Thanks and sorry this has taken so long,
Scott -
Inappropriate?Oops. Both are NULL
PHP version is 5.1.6
Am hosting HelpCenter at - http://help.bumsonthesaddle.com
Thanks for replying back. Am just waiting to integrate HelpCenter on my site.
The FAQ that we currently have sucks - http://bumsonthesaddle.com/faq and helpcenter would rock in its place :)
I’m happy
-
Did you add the Oauth consumer key and consumer secret into their respective fields in the db? If so, does this fix it? -
Inappropriate?Oops .. I didnt know we had to add the key and secret to the db .. lemme try that
-
Inappropriate? You shouldn't have to do this manually--they should get populated when the package is compiled from your GS account. But at this point it's worth trying.
-
Inappropriate?tried doing that .. set the key, the secret and the company id ..
Does not seem to work.
hitting http://help.bumsonthesaddle.com/admin...
keeps giving me "Failed to fetch OAuth request token from getsatisfaction.com" Im sure i am doing something wrong. -
Inappropriate?ROhan, I can't seem to access help.bumsonthesaddle.com. Is it not accessible to outsiders (yet)?
-
Inappropriate?umm .. If I hit help.bumsonthesaddle.com/admin.php there seems to be an issue .. is that not how you set it up ?
-
Inappropriate?http://help.bumsonthesaddle.com is finally up ...
but dont seem to be able to get past the auth yet :(
I’m sad
-
Inappropriate?wierd. I just ran the following sql and things seem to work now
update site_settings set configured='Y';
I’m thankful
-
Inappropriate?but when I try to login to my dashboard (http://help.bumsonthesaddle.com/user-...) I get the same error
Failed to fetch OAuth request token from getsatisfaction.com.
I’m sad
-
Inappropriate?ok .. reverted the above mentioned setting. Looks like that short circuited some other installation procedures.
What do I do now ?
I’m confused
-
Inappropriate?Hi ROhan, you're right that you shouldn't set that flag to 'Y' as it will skip past part of the initialization phase and the problem will still be there.
So, let's verify this: You have, in your config.php file, lines beginning with $oauth_consumer_key and $oauth_consumer_secret, and these lines set those variables to the correct strings. And in your site_settings database table, you have just one row and in it, the columns oauth_consumer_key and oauth_consumer_secret are null. Is that correct?
Meanwhile, your problem seems sufficiently unusual that I wonder if you haven't got a corrupt download. Have you tried making a fresh download and install?
-
Inappropriate?I had someone email me about the same issue of "Failed to fetch OAuth request token" and he was on php 5.1.6.
Ezra, is there any way you could downgrade to 5.1.6 and confirm it works for you? -
Inappropriate?Erza - the config files have the info. (im guessing its the correct info.) Now I have this info in the DB. Nope. Have created multiple downloads with multiple versions, same issue.
-
Inappropriate?OK, that's good to know.
I'm going to pursue Scott's lead of testing with PHP 5.1.6 to see if that makes a difference. Will try to get back to you as soon as possible.
