Button help text & function reversed (in IE7, reproduceable?)
Hi there,
some seconds ago, I tried to both products of Plazes:
http://getsatisfaction.com/plazes
As I added the normal Plazes, suddenly the right product couldn't be added anymore.
And short afterwards, the buttons and explanations somehow reversed. On the added "Plazes" on the left, there was an + Button with the corresponding description and on the right, there was the - Button and the description "Remove from your dashboard" for "Plazes beta".
Strange.

Inappropriate?Hi Philipp, thanks for pointing this out. I'm going to try to reproduce it here, by firing up my VMware and popping over to http://getsatisfaction.com/plazes in IE7.
I'll let you know what I come up with.
I’m thankful for bug reports, especially for browers

Inappropriate?Hmm, I can't seem to reproduce the behavior you reported. I clicked the gree plus to add both products, an there was no cross-talk between the two. It all seemed to function normally. My mouse was hovering on the minus as the screenshot was snapped.
I’m puzzled

Hi Cameron, don't know, in my case I added ONLY the left one! ("Plazes") Not the beta. And as you can see on your screen, the left icon IS GREEN ! Please check out if it shows the wrong button / text. ;) This is what I experienced in my case. Of course in my case, the right side was also red, but WITHOUT any action from my side! -
Inappropriate?Ah ha! I think there might be a misunderstanding of our (probably confusing) interface. Allow me to explain:
When you are not "following" a product, the outer border should be gray, and there should be a green [+] button. When you hover your mouse over this green [+], the border will appear green. Clicking the [+] will display the "added to dashboard" message and change the [+] to a red [-] to allow you to later stop "following" the product. Move your mouse away from the icon and the border for your followed product remains green.
Here's a diagram of the states I observed. If you saw something else and you haven't been able to properly follow the product you like without interference from another product, I'd still like to hear about it.
I’m hoping I got it this time

I think the best explanation I gave was my original one. If you read it thoroughly, you hopefully get the point. Although I still can't reproduce it. Maybe my PC problem?? :-/ -
Hm, the system doesn't accept my HTML commands for this previous comment! -.- Do you see it? (Don't know if you can look into my comment "sourcecode"?) ... -
Inappropriate?Sorry Cameron, but that was/is not the problem.
As I added some products before, I know how it's ought to be normal, no doubt. ;)
As I said, exactly that what you display here, doesn't happen, it happens reversed!
Although I experienced it only once.
I'll try to make a kind of a fake "photo montage" of it with SnagIt to explain it.
PS: Irrespective of this problem, I'd recommend to also let the border be red/green, when you are not "mouse over", or is there anything that would speak against this?
At least the "red" part should be like that, because it is otherwise green!
I mean, red button, green border = inconsistent, isn't it?
-
Inappropriate?Well, I can't reproduce it, but if you see it again, please let me know. Otherewise, let's just let this one go for now.
