Can I edit an older idea that i posted?
I need to update a link in an Idea that I posted about a month ago. Can I do this?

Inappropriate? We usually just add a reply with an addendum.
UPDATE: the new link is here. -
1. How do you have an "UPDATE:" on a reply that you can't edit? Or are you, as a GSFN employee, allowed to edit your replies?
2. Is there supposed to be a link in your reply? I don't see one. -
Inappropriate? When you create a topic or reply, you have fifteen minutes to edit it. But, for anything older than that, you will probably need to add on to the conversation with a new reply.
I’m hoping this isn't disappointing news

Inappropriate? While learning your UI, I entered a series of tags as "space delimited" instead of "comma delimited" ... now I can't edit or update it ... :-(
How can I fix my tags?
I’m sad

Inappropriate?Humancell: You have 15 minutes to edit topics you've created, but after that, you might have to ask me to do it. I'm happy to help, so don't hesitate to ask.
This used to be more editable. You previously could simply edit tags from the topic page. I wonder if this might be something we should change back. I'll see what everyone else at Get Satisfaction thinks about maybe moving back to that easier way to edit tags.
I’m not sure about the change we made

Eric, if you were to look at my posts to Qik ... there are only a few ... the first couple have tags that were space delimited. My later ones I put in there correctly with commas ... once I got a clue. :-) If you want to go fix those ... that would be great! -
Sure thing. I'll do that now. -
BTW: You can see all your tags here: http://getsatisfaction.com/qik/tags -
Inappropriate? It would be nice to enlarge the window. I just noticed a typo in my post but 27 minutes have passed. The 15 minute window thing seems arbitrary. What is the rationale behind that anyway. Is it an attempt to prevent historical revisionism :)
-
Inappropriate?Tom, you nailed it: It is in place primarily so that people won't go back and alter with content or be deceptive. But, the 15 minute window isn't set in stone for us. We could change that time period, I suppose, so let us know if you have a different preference. We've also talked about alternate ways to show edited content (e.g., show/hide edits), but for now, we have that 15 minute window.

Inappropriate?Hey Eric,
In my case, I posted a reply with an image. I realized about 30 minutes later I would prefer to have posted a different image that would be a little less confusing.
In this case I certainly would not mind if users could go back and view the revisions I made, i.e. in a Wiki style revision log. But it would be nice to be able to update images, particularly if a screenshot changes and having the deprecated screenshot in an example would result in more confusion.
My suggestion would be to increase the revision window to 60 minutes and allow users to access a revision log, perhaps allowing the author to add a comment to the revision similar to Wikipedia.
Cheers,
Tom -
Inappropriate? Thanks. That is very helpful. We've thought about revisions a la Wikipedia, and perhaps that's a direction we'll ultimately go in -- or at least partly in that direction.
I’m appreciative
