Can I wear more than one hat?
Can I have more than one e-mail address tied to my profile? That way, I can tie my work e-mail to stuff that I say about work. And the rest of the time, I can speak as myself.
The more people who report this problem, the more it gets noticed.
The best solution from the company

This is definitely in the works! You will be able to add multiple email address to you account.
Good point about being able to speak in your own voice or as a representative of a company!
We're baking in ways to make it easy and clear which voice you're using throughout Satisfaction. When you leave a reply in your own company's space you will be shown as an employee (or official rep). In an unaffiliated company's space you'll just be speaking as you. This gets really cool when companies have explicit affiliations and your employment in one company gives you a little extra clout in another company space.
It's good to keep in mind that being an Employee doesn't mean you have to speak with the voice of a company (that's what Official Representatives are for), it just means you've got an insiders point of view.
I'm curious how this suits you?
I’m curiocited (curious and excited all at once)

Inappropriate? We're working on solutions to these very issues. I'll let the product folks pipe in about the *how* and the *when*.
I’m confident you'll be pleased...eventually
-
Inappropriate? What about registering your "regular Joe" self a second account? Then you can have a different avatar and people won't get confused.
I’m still trying to figure out the best way to address this particular situation
-
Inappropriate? That's unacceptable. I already have way too many user accounts on way too many different sites. Having more than one account on any website makes me want to check none of them. After all, I only have so much time each day.
I’m buried under my user accounts.
-
Inappropriate?Sounds like you need a bigger hat rack!
I’m amused, and I promise we're working on this
-
Inappropriate?Yes, yes I do. :)
If I create a separate account now, will I be able to merge them in the future? -

Inappropriate? You could do this by creating two accounts, but that's not what you're asking for...
Your asking for is the ability to log in to one account to manage both your personal and work customer service needs?
I definitely understand where you're coming from...
Would you want two profiles? Two dashboards? The ability toggle between your personalities in conversation?
Maybe we need to interview some folks with multiple personality disorder to see how they manage it ;)
I’m I'm interested in hearing the people's opinion on this one
-
Inappropriate?I think that having two personalities in Satisfaction is counter to the notions of transparency and open conversation that we are endorsing. Within our system you're accountable for what you say. Even with a online pseudo name it's not wise to say things that you wouldn't want tied back to you (like pimping your own wikipedia entry), that said, if you want to come in incognito then no one's going to stop you from commenting with a one-time-post cupcake or a separate account.
I’m opinionated, but really curious about other opinions too
-
Inappropriate? That sounds pretty close to what I want.
The only adjustment I would make is that when you're replying in your own company's space, you also should be able to choose whether you're speaking as the company's representative, or from your own point of view.
Certainly, there are some companies for which that's inappropriate.
I’m happy with this idea.
-
Inappropriate? Not two profiles. That would be way too difficult to manage.
Maybe a dashboard that can be filtered for your company. After all, on my work time, I want to be addressing company stuff.
In conversation, you should get a sensible default, much like Leslie is suggesting. But being able to take off any official hats should be possible.
I’m looking forward to seeing this feature soon.
-
Inappropriate?I agree with Leslie. I don't want two separate profiles. I just want to be able to distinguish between my personal life and my work lives.
-
Inappropriate?I've come back and happily found that I can add my corporate e-mail to my account. And that it integrates pretty well.
I'd like to note that because I have separate work and personal e-mails, it doesn't make sense for Company Notifications to get shunted to my primary e-mail address. Wouldn't it be nice if each company I worked for would send notifications to my corporate address?

Inappropriate?yes! it absolutely would. this was on our roadmap for the multiple email accounts, but it fell off because we were having some issues with how we send out email. however, we're now in the middle of restructuring how our messaging bus works, which is what controls how we send out email, and as soon as that's done (next week, hopefully), we'll be able to start implementing changes like this one.
or, the shorter answer: look for this feature sometime in the next two months!
I’m working on it
