Can't relate a product to an item made by a different company
http://getsatisfaction.com/apple/topi...
I need to remove the "time warner cable" product from the list (it's now a product of Apple, Inc, when it's really a product of Time Warner Cable) and add the "Road Runner" product, that I created here:

It looks like I can't add products to an item that's not by the same company, which is weird, since it's just an incompatibility between products by two different companies, and thus it should be addable. So I realized: RELATED PRODUCTS! Apple has five related products, one of which is Firefox, and I can add Firefox to the list of products that are relevant to the Apple post. So I tried to add Road Runner (the ISP of TWC) to the related products, but I can't. I can create a brand new product to be related, but that doesn't seem to make sense.
So: How do you relate two products?
The more people who like this idea, the more it gets noticed.

Inappropriate?Yep, can't hit the minus on Apple iPhone 2.0 with 3G over there and have it actually do anything. That's nice, especially on my own topic.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?I figured it out (one of the downsides of no faq system): You have to go to the product and click "edit this product" and add the relationship. I'd seen that before but forgotten about it. Kinda sucks, since it seems I'd have to say that every ISP makes a product that a company that creates a router can work with.
It'd be neat if there were general categories, like "ISP", and any product which is a "Router" could be related to any service which is an ISP without having to manually create a link. This also relates to the inability to disassociate, even for the person who created the topic. Now that I've fixed part of the problem (the linking of RoadRunner to the modem problem, which wasn't super necessary), I can't remove the bad product nor the bad association.

Inappropriate?Thomas: So sorry you're having this problem! The product associations are still a work in progress, admittedly. If you are an admin and want to add/edit products, you can do that (sorry it wasn't more evident). But, in some instances, you won't be able to delete or alter an association.
As a fall-back, though, I am here to help make sure any product curation gets done to your liking. You can always ask me to help get it right, either on Get Satisfaction or by e-mailing me at eric [at] getsatisfaction [dot] com. A new way to deal with products is in the works, but it may be a few months before we're ready to roll it out.
So, let me know which product and the association you need it to have. I don't want to make any assumptions, so steer my in the right direction, and I will do my utmost to get it fixed for you. Thanks for your patience!
I’m at your service

Inappropriate? There's only one question related to the question about the Apple Airport Express and the "Time Warner Cable" (technically "Road Runner" from "Time Warner Cable") product from the wrong company (Apple). It's this one and I already created the relationship between Apple and Road Runner, so that I could add it to the product.
All it needs now is for the Time Warner Cable item to be disassociated, and deleted.

Inappropriate? The Time Warner Cable item should no longer be showing up in this manner. If I have anything wrong, don't hesitate to point it out.
