Inappropriate?hi, ethan. i just subscribed to your feed via this link:
http://getsatisfaction.com/people/eth...
and it's showing up just fine in my google reader. can you try that link and see if it works? -
Inappropriate?oop -- looks like ted might have an idea about what the problem is with subscribing directly. he's looking into it now.
-
Inappropriate? So to be clear. You aren't seeing anything in the rss feed, or you aren't seeing any new updates after the initial subscription?
I’m a little confused

Inappropriate?Hi Ethan,
Thanks for reporting this problem. That doesn't sound right at all. I'll investigate it and report back here when we have more information. -
Inappropriate?Wow, you guys are fast. I tried resubscribing with the link that Lane posted and that seems to have taken care of things. I'm not sure what I was doing wrong, but thanks for getting to this so quickly.
I’m impressed with Get Satisfaction

Inappropriate?sounds like it's all fixed up!

Inappropriate?I just logged back into getsatisfaction after a couple of days of nothing showing up on my RSS reader and found 6 new posts on my dashboard, none of which had showed up via RSS. The posts were all at least 23 hours old so I assume they should have showed up by now. I got the recent posts when I resubscribed and then one post after that from Lane.
Am I misunderstanding how the dashboard RSS is set up? I'm assuming that everything that posts to my dashboard should come through via RSS, but may that's not how it's set up. -
Inappropriate? You definitely have the proper understanding of how it should work. It sounds like it's not working that way, though. We'll take another look today. I never really dove into it since I thought we had resolved it.

Inappropriate?Ethan: Let me pull in a developer or someone with a little more RSS knowledge and see if we can figure out where the error might be. I believe everything that all replies and comments should come through the RSS feed of your dashboard.
-
Inappropriate? Thanks Guys. My reader got my comment on this issue and both of yours. It didn't get the 6 posts prior to that. These were from a discussion that I was following (related to the banning of Guy Fawkes), but not something that I had actually commented on. Don't know if this helps.
-
Inappropriate? So, I have an explanation for you. Your last reply helped me figure out what's going on.
Currently, the dashboard is implemented using a set of events generated in a separate process, recording the actions you've taken on the site, and the actions for topics you're following. The RSS feed for the dashboard, however, doesn't currently use the same source of events as the dashboard web page. It's using a similar list based on only the topics where you've participated.
After reading over what I just wrote, it seems that the RSS feed *is* broken, per se, since the streams of information don't match. I'm not exactly clear on a timeframe for fixing this, as it requires rewriting the guts of the RSS's source data.
We'll likely be able to address it shortly after returning from RailsConf. I hope you understand and that's helpful to you.
I’m glad we figured this one out
-
Inappropriate? Thanks Cameron. That all makes sense. I'll just keep logging in every couple of days and checking my dashboard until I hear otherwise. Enjoy RailsConf.
