More Kudos for Kompanies!
I notice some companies only tend to have problems that need solving. There's no topic type for *praising* a company. The net result for some companies is a list of a bunch of problems, not a great message to send.
It'd be nice to create some balance in the comments by having something in the UI, like another topic type, that also encourages people to note what they *like* about the company/product too.

I'll second Victor's suggestion. I think the Netflix model is a good one. It's also what Amazon uses with its Marketplace third party vendors. The magic is in sending a quick and easy-to-respond-to email just after an interaction of some sort. With Get Satisfaction, that interaction would be the one with the company in question. Take the "How does this make you feel?", throw'em in an auto-generated email, and send them to the person who just had a (hopefully positive) interaction with a company.
Or (urk) do you already do this? Even if you do, at least the hopefully good stuff will be more prominent, rather than being buried in a comment (like this one).

Agreed, it can be very overwhelming to see nothing but problems, feature requests and questions awaiting you. We do have another type of topic called a discussion topic (represented by the green quote symbol) which people do use to praise companies. It seems though, that it's just not the same because we don't call them out specifically as praise. I would love to be able to give a company a vote of confidence or an "I'm a fan" badge. How would you like to express your kudos?

In addition to a topic type, I think one-click methods are very effective, like Netflix ratings. For example, a button that said, "I'm a fan of [company]!" -
