Moving to the next thread from within a thread
Another question from one of our guys:
When I'm reading a specific thread, I sometimes want to go to the next thread directly. Like, "the next idea", "the next question", without going back to the index page.
Can this be done?

Inappropriate?PLEASE SEE: http://getsatisfaction.com/satisfacti...
This has been suggested to us by others, too, so it's definitely on our radar! We are considering the right away to add this to the interface. [note: we're also adding a feature to smoothly indicate duplicate topics like this. stay tuned]
If you were using our API I think you could do this pretty easily by grabbing the topics ordered by date, and then generating the Previous/Next links based on that array.

Inappropriate?I'd like your input on how you would expect this to behave. Currently, there are many different ways to get into a topic: from your dashboard, from google, from the company page, from a global tag page, etc. The list goes on. Also, you have to take into account that most of the different orderings of topics are dynamic and can change from moment to moment. Truly, only sorting by creation date maintains order, whereas the other sorting options we provide jumble topics around as the data comes into the system.
Given that, what do you expect the next link to go to? Would it be adequate to simply link to the next item based on creation date regardless of what list of topics they were looking at when they came into the topic. That solution is simple to implement, but It may confuse people who expect the link to point to a different place.
I would imagine that you would be using this feature to work through a list of topics to see where you could contribute. Correct me if I'm wrong. In that sense, it seems like the simplistic solution I described above would be sufficient. I'd love to hear your opinion on the specifics.
Thanks for the feedback

Inappropriate?Wow, I took ages responding to this one. I'm sorry.
Anyways: You know how I always get notification emails from GetSatisfaction whenever someone replies to a topic I'm watching or posts a new topic?
Well, I'd like a web interface to let me work through these in a 'next/prev' fashion.
In addition, a chronological interface would be good. It should also take account filtering by product (so if I focus on Tibbo AggreGate topics, for example, the 'next' link won't take me to a Tibbo TIDE topic just because it was the next one posted).
The goal is simple: I want to make sure no-one gets missed. I don't want a thread which ends with a customer asking something, and no-one replying.
Right now, if I go to "unanswered threads" it merely shows me threads with one single posting. But what about a thread where a customer asks a question, I respond, and the customer comes back with another question?
I don't know how to zero in on those particular threads, and they can easily get missed. I do get notification emails, but these are not so handy as the sole tracking mechanism.
I’m kinda happy today overall
