password reset doesn't work
I know it's a mortal sin to combine bugs but the grey on black error message design isn't visible. It took me 3 tries before I noticed it!
The more people who report this problem, the more it gets noticed.

Inappropriate?Hiya Cupcake. Are you trying to change your password from your dashboard? Or did you forget your password and are trying to reset it using the forgot password form on the login page?
It sounds like you're trying to reset your lost password since you're seeing the black error message at the top of the page.
Are you by any chance using Internet Explorer?

Inappropriate?Could you walk me through how you are resetting your password? I just checked it out and it is working for me, so I want to isolate the differences between what we are each doing so that I can get it fixed.
Are you resetting your password from your logged in dashboard, or are you requesting an authorization email from the sign in page?
What browser are you using?
I'm assuming from your comment about the notification that the system is telling you the password was successfully being reset. Is that true?
Are you changing the password in a significant way, or are you simply changing the casing? That shouldn't matter, but I want to be sure.

Inappropriate?I was in slideshare.net. Wanted to post a suggestion and so clicked on the forum there which suggested I go to user forum. Clicking there I got here but when I tried to post it asked me to sign in or sign up. When i filled in user name and password it gave me the error msg to the effect sorry user name or password invalid.
I went back to my gmail looked at the mail i got from last night asking me to confirm my registration. Did that (again today) but again the same error msg. I repeated the routine again and this time it worked!

Did you make a one-time post using only your email first, and then enable the full account?
Did the email you received have the subject "Upgrade your Satisfaction profile" or was it "Welcome to Satisfaction"?
I may be reading into this wrong, but it seems like maybe you are confusing your slideshare.net account with your account on getsatisfaction.com. We don't actually share any user information, and your user account on this website is completely separate from any accounts you have at slideshare.
I'm missing something here, can you (or anyone) help elucidate so that we can get you some Satisfaction(tm) :)

I saw your mail only this morning (Hyderabad, India) and realized that you had responded just a few minutes after I hit the sack last night!
Just as I got here by clicking on the topic hyperlink in the mail (and then entered my login info to get to this reply box,) I had done the same last night too.
I did rest the password. But used the same password as the old one.
I wear thick glasses, have lots of gray hair, and am definitely absent minded - but I am not a professor! :)
I forgot what exactly I did.Hence sorry I can't supply the details to your specific questions:

You aren't reading anything wrong. Day before y'day I was attempting to post a suggestion to slideshare on their site. I recd an advice to go here and post it. (That is how I came to know about your site and services!) Complying, I was asked by your site to sign in or sign up. Then signed up by creating an account here. My login details for Slideshare and Satisfaction could have been similar even though not the same.
I hope this helps. Or have I confused you. Sorry if I have done that!

Inappropriate?I tried logging in and it didn't work, so I did the forgot password thing, twice. I get the emails but when I click the link I get an error message saying there is no such page. (Mac, with both Safari and FF3)
