Hi, Lane! Man, you guys take this stuff seriously.
Sometime after it disappeared without a trace, the comment suddenly showed back up. It's here:

Inappropriate?Hey, Jeffrey. Sorry about that. There might be a bug in the service that we introduced during last night's deploy.
Can you give me more specifics about what happened, so I can look into fixing it? What topic were you trying to comment on, and were you already logged in when you tried to post the comment or did the reply disappear when it asked you to log in?
I’m sad

Testing the comment feature. Let's see if this works. -

Inappropriate? My best guess for what happened here (though I know it doesn't quite meet the Occam's razor test) is that at the moment you posted that comment you opened up a wormhole in the time-space continuum, fell backward in time several minutes, and were hence viewing the version of the page from before you posted. You began seeing the comment once you "caught up" with where you left off. I believe we can all agree this is a more plausible explanation than a bug in our code.
I’m a skeptic

+1 for wormholes -
Inappropriate?Just had a thought, could it just be a caching issue in "Help Center", I don't know if the comment Zeldman posted was sent through the Hahlo Help Center or not, but I have noticed similar oddness myself when using my Help Center.
For example, I posted a topic and it didn't appear in my Help Center for about an hour but was available when I checked on getsatisfaction.com (this is what made me think caching was at fault). However I did also post a new topic through my help center last week and it vanished entirely into the ether never to be seen again.

Inappropriate?I'd be interested to know whether it was going through Help Center. There's a known issue with Help Center's caching and posting of comments.
