Anyone knows about Dammy Bruce? Is he genuine?
This message to me sounds rather suspicious to me like an identity fraud scam? Anyone has had a similar experience?
Good day to you over there i need a good Tutor for my son SCOTT for the month of AUG i got your advert while surfing through the internet that you are Tutor and i really want my child to be taught by you SCOTT is 12 year old and easily catch up.
Although,i understand you are in (U.K} but i\'ve arranged with my client son Nanny living there that my son is coming to stay with him for his period of tutoring and he has agreed with me to come to the U.K , ..
kindly get back to ME with.....
1.CHARGE FOR AN HOUR....
2.TOTAL CHARGES FOR 1 MONTH, THAT HE WILL BE TAUGHT 3 TIMES PER WEEK..
3.FULL NAME AND ADDRESS
4.YOUR PHONE NUMBER...

As one of the School Of Everything team, we will certainly help to make sure that this is not an Identity scam. My initial feeling is that this is an honest request.
At first glance I think the request could be real because Dammy is asking for specific information about tutoring services. Since Dammy is looking for a tutor for a 12 year old son, I assume he going to be as anxious as you are to make sure that he is dealing with a real person.
Perhaps, if you are uncertain, you could respond with information about your tutoring, but withhold your full address. Dammy has provided a phone number which is probably a US number, so, if you are able to continue your conversation, it may be worthwhile to arrange for a time to speak on the phone.
Although School of Everything is not currently able to ensure the identity of all tutors on the site, we are very interested in making sure that our users have the best possible experience, so, keep us informed, and we will assist in any way possible.

There have been a number of complaints from SOE members about 'Dammy Bruce', including one who recognised the phrasing from a money laundering scam elsewhere.
Scammers and spammers will not be tolerated on School of Everything - we are investigating and will report this to the police if necessary.

Inappropriate?I have had these scam messages before, anyone who is prepared to drop their son off at a strangers house and is so concerned about the money must be a fraudster. What they do is send you too much ask for a refund before your dodgy cheque has cleared.

I just replied and said I was unable to deal with tutoring enquiries from outside the UK. Personally I'd always want to meet a student and their parents/carers before actually agreeing to a tutoring job! -
