Anyone interested in beta testing PodWorks iPhone support?
Hey friends of PodWorks, I'm putting the final touches on PodWorks iPhone support and now I'd like to have more people try it out. If anyone is interested in beta testing it, could you please make a note of it here and I'll get you on board? I'm hoping to have this iPhone release out this week, so let me know ASAP! Thanks!

OK, I'm going to try an experiment with a fairly open beta then. Anyone who wants to try it out is welcome to download it here. At this point, everything that PodWorks can do with a normal iPod (copy to the Finder, send songs to iTunes, etc) should work with an iPhone. The only exception is song playback--it's going to take a bit more work for me to get that working smoothly, so I may just release without it for now.
One of my favorite things about the iPhone support is that now you don't have to worry at all about unmounting the device! You can just put the iPhone in its cradle and it will show up in PodWorks, and pull it out and it disappears from PodWorks. Super slick!
I guess the only other note I'd have is that you probably want to avoid doing song copies while iTunes is syncing the phone, or else it'll be pretty slow.
Again, anyone is welcome to try this beta, although if you would like to report a problem I'd appreciate it if you could do it through Satisfaction (it doesn't even require you to create an account to report a problem). It's just easier for me to deal with than email.
If you need a license email me (I *think* you can do through Satisfaction). I won't give them to *everyone*, but I'd be glad to give them for a limited time to people who are willing to help out.
I think this beta is very close to final, and, due to my personal schedule constraints, I'm thinking I'd actually like to release it Wednesday. So if everyone could check it out and give me their feedback by tomorrow evening or so I'd appreciate it.
Thanks!

OK, yet *another* beta--this time correcting some problems with iPhone support on PowerPC machines. I think this is probably very close to a release candidate.

OK, got a new beta--this time with the weak linking. I would be particularly interested if anyone who has a machine with a pre-7.3 iTunes could try this out with a normal iPod. Basically what I'm trying to confirm is that this release is not making MobileDevice.framework (which I believe was only added with iTunes 7.3 for iPhone support) a requirement for using PodWorks.

Inappropriate?Sorry about the delay - it is working fine for me now, the bug I reported to you a few days ago is fixed. :)

Inappropriate?Looks like I won't be releasing today. I decided that I really need to implement weak linking so PodWorks is less dependent on changes to MobileDevice.framework. I'll probably have another beta tonight.
