Song plays for a few seconds then itunes changes song...
I just downloaded my music from my ipod 30g video to my itunes 7.6.1 onto my brand new (3 day old) macbook. Nearly half of the albums play around 12 seconds of each song then move on to the next song. Some of the songs also skip. I used to have a PC and switched to a Mac when PC died. What's the deal? Anyone else encounter this issue? Anyone know how to fix it? I am using the newest version of podworks and have the full version.

Inappropriate?I've heard a few scattered reports of this, but I'm kind of at a loss to explain it right now. Did you see any errors at all during the copy? Do you have iTunes set to automatically add songs to the iTunes music folder (under the Advanced tab in iTunes preferences)?

Inappropriate?I'm a bit stymied by this, but the fact that you were probably using a Windows formatted iPod seems like an important detail. I don't really test with Windows-formatted iPods, so I probably need to either start doing that or make an explicit statement that I don't support Windows-formatted iPods...

Inappropriate?Very similar thing happened to me. I put all my music from my iTunes library on my PC onto a flash drive, and after a few times filling it up and transferring to my mac mini iTunes library, it was finally filled.
However many of the songs on my mac mini itunes play for a few seconds and stop. The time code shows the full allotted time for the song, so I think it is on there somewhere.

Inappropriate?I am having the same problem, and I have a macbook. Songs play like 'samples' before jumping to next song. This was not the case before. Now it happens on both my laptop and my ipod. There ought to be customer support for this problem, as it is apparently a common one.

Inappropriate?Same problem here. I'm all mac though, just started happening with some new stuff added to iTunes 8. I really hope this isn't a bug with 8.
Oh and possibly important: If I manually skip past the part that it ends the song, it will continue playing from where I placed the play head, but only for the same amount of time it would from the beginning. All these tracks play completely in any other media player.
