Why is Secondbrain so slow?

We have had a little traffic spike recently going from being a small beta to getting 1000+ new users in one day. Exciting times for us of course, a lot of pain for our poor server. The good news is that we just added another server and did some optimizing tweaks to the server. I hope you'll experience a better performance this week. We'll do a lot of work on making it snappy and efficient during the summer.
