Problem with Installation and Access to iCal or adding new items to Today
Installed the trial version to play with it after reading a review on the Smoking Apple Blogs. After installing, I could see my calendar but I cannot access preferences after the first time and my iCal calendar now, no longer lets me access it. I can open the calendar and see my previous items but I cannot make a change or access any of the menus.
I'm using Leopard on a Macbook 17".
Restarted and still have the problem. Also disabled Today from autostarting.

Inappropriate?I'm afraid I don't exactly follow your description. What do you mean your iCal calendar no longer lets you access it? You can't see the calendar in Today or iCal?
When you try to open the Today Preferences window, do you hear an alert from your Mac? If not, it's probably hidden behind some other windows. -
I can see my items that I had previously create in both Today and iCal. But in ical I can no longer access preferences, create a new group or access the previous groups that I had.
The Today application also does not allow me to access the preferences tab.
There are no hidden windows, even tried the built in command to show all open windows to confirm. Real weird.
If you would like to see I could do a webex with you tomorrow afternoon... -
Its also weird, after closing my calendar and reopening it appears blank - no calendar, dates or events shown. I tried to also create a new calendar but nothing appears. It appears the app is corrupt? -
Inappropriate? Can you open the Console.app (/Applications/Utilities/Console.app) and let me know any output that references Today or iCal in it.
-
After opening console, i was not able to locate anything but I relaunched ical to see if that would show any new items and everything is back to normal. I did not retest with Today yet but will log back for the record. Does that make any sense to you? -
Not really. If Today/CalendarStore were having an issue reading or writing data, it should output it to the Console.
