I just downloaded Twhirl, and I'm trying to connect, and when I hit the connect button, nothing happens! I have my username selected, so why isn't it working?
Hi, clicking on links actually open a new window in Firefox instead of creating a new Tab in an existing window, and it's slightly annoying after a while.
All other apps, Twitterific, Mail, Vienna, etc... work as expected.
This could come from the AIR Runtime but I'm a XUL kinda guy :-)
Env: Mac Leopard / Firefox 3, set as default Browser
I am unable to follow anyone on Twitter using Twhirl. Every time I do I get the "limit exceeded" message, even though Twhirl is still downloading new tweets.
Updated to Twhirl 0.8.3., and it's working fine, but there's a new feature I don't like (or perhaps it's a bug)? It shows my old (marked-as-read) messages when I re-open Twhirl (which is fine), but it also shows all my marked-as-read DMs and @replies, which clutters my screen.
Is there any way to revert to the behavior from 0.8.2., or to just have it show my old messages, and not my old @replies or DMs?
I am attempting to log into twhirl with my twitter username and password. I know it's the correct one; I just logged in with the same combination on Twitter's website. However, when I attempt to use twhirl, I get this error message:
"Sorry, could not log you in to Twitter with that and password. Error #2032"
I would like to use the application, but it won't let me log in. Don't know if anyone else is having the same problem; just know it doesn't work for me when I know everything is correct.
This was previously reported in the older bug system as issue #139 from version 0.7.x, but its still appearing
Using Twhirl v0.8.1, Replies and Directs still appear on each launch of Twhirl. They can be viewed and deleted (using the Replies or Directs tab), but its only for that session. Subsequent launches of the Twhirl client show them again.
I'm seeing this on Mac OSX Leopard (10.5.2), but in the previous bug entry, others confirmed this on Windows XP and Vista as well.
**Unless there is a setting that's being overlooked? If so please let me know.
I haven't been able to use twhirl for two days. Every time I start it up it says "limit exceeded, paused 5 minutes". I understand that that twitter have a 70 request per hour limit, what troubles me is that my laptop is switched off at night, and when i start it up in the morning and launch twhirl it immediately gives me that error. I've switched back to using twitterific which works fine.
Twhirl was running and then just went away. When I try to restart it, it will not start...nothing happens. I had no problems w/the program until this morning.
I cannot open browser links in Twhirl anymore? Anyone have some ideas? I try opening a link and it does not open any new tabs in Firefox 2.0. Thanks for helping :)
Getting an error downloading Twhirl, using both the manual option and the automatic option. Automatic option tries to download Adobe AIR, then near the end of the download encounters a problem and asks me to retry... Manual option appears to DL AIR ok, but when I try to install the Twhirl.air file, it tells me that the air file is no good. Running OSX 10.5.2
Can't seem to save pownce settings. I enter my name/password on the options dialog and click save but nothing happens. The settings are gone if i restart twhirl.
On a related note, it always asks me for my password on startup, despite me checking the 'remember' box.
Is there a general problem with saving password info?
I have my default browser set to Camino.
Clicking on a link tweeted by a user doesn't launch the browser to the appropriate link.
The browser just sits and does nothing.
Twhirl worked OK in v.0.8.2, but I upgraded to v0.8.3 and my Twitter password is no longer recognised. I have reset the password in Twitter, and tried uninstalling both Air and Twhirl, but with no luck. I just get prompted to re-enter the password over and again
I have found two bugs in twhirl for me, that started when i upgraded to 0.8.4, started using identi.ca, and did a wipe and reinstall then migrate of my mac.
bug 1. Whenever i start twhirl, it only remembers my twitter account name, and always forgets the password. It forgets my Seesmic, Friendfeed, and identi.ca accounts, even though i enter them in, and tell them to remember the accounts and passwords, and to open those accounts when opening twhirl. This is annoying because i have to reenter all my accounts each time i run twhirl.
bug 2. I like to crosspost my tweets to pownce and jaiku, and that is one of the reasons i use twhirl. Whenever i go into the settings for twitter, and try to resetup crossposting (which got disabled as part of this bug/update) it won't let me save the settings, only click cancel.
