For urls with anchor references, the "shorten url" function does not include the anchor. However, if pasting the complete url into the twhirl box, the short url upon publish is correct.
I have accounds for Twitter, FriendFeed, and identi.ca all open at once. Windows XP gets noticeably slower. When I hover and move the mouse over any of the Twhirl windows, the mouse is really choppy and almost unusable. Each window is very slow to respond to clicks and scrolls as well. I get roughly the same behavior on OS X 10.5.5, just not quite as bad as on Windows XP.
I just downloaded Twhirl, and I'm trying to connect, and when I hit the connect button, nothing happens! I have my username selected, so why isn't it working?
twhirl was working fine for me till yesterday. Today, it does log me in but always gives me errors on accessing the APIs.. It hasn't retrieved any data!
I have found two bugs in twhirl for me, that started when i upgraded to 0.8.4, started using identi.ca, and did a wipe and reinstall then migrate of my mac.
bug 1. Whenever i start twhirl, it only remembers my twitter account name, and always forgets the password. It forgets my Seesmic, Friendfeed, and identi.ca accounts, even though i enter them in, and tell them to remember the accounts and passwords, and to open those accounts when opening twhirl. This is annoying because i have to reenter all my accounts each time i run twhirl.
bug 2. I like to crosspost my tweets to pownce and jaiku, and that is one of the reasons i use twhirl. Whenever i go into the settings for twitter, and try to resetup crossposting (which got disabled as part of this bug/update) it won't let me save the settings, only click cancel.
When clicking the delete icon on a direct twitter message in Twhirl, I get the "Rate limit exceded, pasing for 5 minutes" message. Initially I thought this was due to having twhirl and socialthing going at the same time, but after shutting down socialthing, and waiting a couple of hours, and dropping the twhirl api request rate to 10/hour, I get the same thing.
Also, when hovering over the API health icon, it tells me that I've used (for example) 15 of 100 requests.
I think this may be down to the CSRF protection twitter added recently.
twhirl! please resolve the positioning of the application itself on the screen (osX), very often I plug in and out my monitor and very often my twhirl sets totaly out (seeing only left bottom corner) and one is unable normaly deal with that (I solve it by changin the screen arrangement),
best solution would be, when i could drag the app on more spots (sides, bottom), than just the topbar.
Is there a way to stop old replies from showing up every time I start twhirl? I've noticed this issue listed on trac for twhirl as well. The more replies I get, the less I can see of the unseen tweets that have come in since I logged into twitter via twhirl
On OSX twhirl reacts poorly to application switching. When the window gets focus it always does a getURL if the post has a url in it -- and it seems to make random favorites to my twitter account.
there should be some better handling. this makes the application nearly unusable -- creating datapoints on my twitter account when i don't want them , and opening up urls in safari/firefox nearly every time i try to switch to twhirl.
if i click on a url in a twhirl window, it should only open a URL if twhirl is the active app.
A minor thing, but the linking of @names seems to hyperlink parts of email addresses as well (the first part of the domain name). A suggestion would be to only hyperlink @names if the @ is at the beginning of the update, or if the character before it is whitespace.
I have just downloaded twhirl, typed in my screenname, clicked on it and gone to the log-in window, typed in a password and then told I could not be logged in because of authentification failure! HELP
I would love to be able to choose the color scheme/theme individually for each account. That would make it visually easier to manage multiple twitter accounts. Because they all look the same, I've posted on the wrong twitter account on a few different occasions.
I want to connect multiple twitter accounts in the same window. is this possible? I know that I can connect multiple accounts, but so far I can only get this to work when having two windows open.
What I want to achieve is to listen to any tweets directed to my company account. I think a lot of people use @replies to discuss different companies and products. Thus I want to listen in to if people talk to my company. But I don't want to have an extra window open.
