"No notification for old messages" doesn't work

The option "no notifications for old messages on start", added on Twhirl 0.8.3; doesn't work as expected.

When I load Twhirl, I get notifications for every single reply and DM anyway.

.Air Update files Launch Logic's WaveBurner software

Apple Logic Studio owners, when attempting to install Twhirl updates, which are .air files ... it may laucn the WaveBurner application instead. The only way I've resolved this is by dragging the WaveBurner (logic) application into the trash, then double-clicking on the .air file, executing the upgrade, and then dragging WaveBurner out of the trash, and back into the Applications folder.

Not sure why WaveBurner launches with a .air file.

    mac os twhirl positioning/dragging problem

twhirl! please resolve the positioning of the application itself on the screen (osX), very often I plug in and out my monitor and very often my twhirl sets totaly out (seeing only left bottom corner) and one is unable normaly deal with that (I solve it by changin the screen arrangement),
best solution would be, when i could drag the app on more spots (sides, bottom), than just the topbar.

    Multiple problems with Twhirl!

I am receiving error messages all the time My Twhirl says exceeded limitation, error receiving messages. At top it says Paused. All this when I have not received or sent tweets within hours. Also my avatars are missing sometimes.

twhirl does need Admin-rights to connect to a newly added user - and it looses the tweets on a restart

Twhirl doesn't give itself write access. I just installed AIR and Twhirl. As always I use a "sudo"-like script for that. This script gives Admin-privileges to my non-Admin account for this installation. This way I installed both programs (twhirl u.0.8.2). (Btw. I don't know why I had to allow twhirl hdd-write and internet access. I sure understand the internet thing, but isn't there maybe some sandbox like feature in AIR that allows me to restrict hdd-access to writing data via some Dom-Data-like interface? I felt uncomfortable having to allow the program more rights than it needs. anyway, .. maybe that's not supported in AIR. so, back to my problem.)

I then had twhirl installed and I started it without Admin-rights just as every other program. I got a dialog to choose my username. I did. I tried to hit connect. nothing happened. I hit "delete passwort". Computer thought for a second and then nothing happened. Then I deleted the account. That worked. Then I was able to create it again. But I still couldn't connect. No reaction on hitting "connect".

Then I started twhirl.exe with Admin-rights and I got a dialog prompting me for a password. I put it in. twhirl loaded all my tweets and I could use it properly.

Then I closed twirl and started it without Admin-rights. I was still logged in. And twhirl said, it'll now load current tweets. But it didn't. And it didn't display any messages in the middle of the twhirl-window. And it said "0 total (0 replies, 0 .. 0..)"

However: Starting with Admin-rights again, didn't help either. No tweets were shown, but I got a message that there was a problem with loading the direct messages. But twhirl said it did load all tweets and all replies and that I had used 6/70 reqs. But still I had a total of 0 tweets displayed in twhirl.

So I deleted my account in twhirl and added it again. Still with admin rights. That worked and I got all my tweets in twirl again.

Then I started it again with Admin-rights and all my tweets were lost again. So the problem seems independent from whether I have write access to the directory.

Just as a note: The sudo command I use can be found here http://www.heise.de/ct/ftp/05/23/112/ as MachMichAdmin (the site is German)

    How-to find/display the people I follow?

Why is there a way to favorite people and look at your followers and favorites, but no way to look at and then contact one of the people I follow??

I think, that's a very important thing, but it is missing!!

Because, I delete all tweets right after reading and maybe five minutes later I want to contact one person. Maybe even worse, I have forgotten his nickname, so what to do? I can't even search him! (Especially if I'd follow a lot of people, although I personally don't do this...)
If I'd had a list of so-called ...? ...erm, people I follow, that would be much easier and faster!!

    Shift-enter to insert line breaks

Sometimes I like to insert line breaks into a post. Most apps use shift-enter for this. I'd like to see such support in twhirl.

    Why can't I see my friend's updates?

When I open Twhirl I get only about 3-6 updates and sometimes if I get all updates some are missing. And it takes such a long time to load the updates from my friends. I'm on a 1mbps connection.

Love Twhirl. Would Like To See Some Enhancements

Would like to see some enhancements to Whirl...

    1) Buffering of tweets when they can't be sent to Twitter.

    2) The ability to display hashtags as an aggregated feed list.

Happy to discuss these ideas in more detail.

Notification of followed Seesmic users in twhirl

The new Seesmic integration into twhirl is great (v 0.8.2b)! I would like to see an ability to configure toaster popup notifications when persons I follow on Seesmic make a video post, similar to the twitter notifications.

Is Twhirl too shy for Windows Vista 64?

After installing twhirl, the program does not start. I am running Windows Vista Business 64. I can see the process "twhirl.exe *32" running but I cannot see the icon in the taskbar. I completely uninstall the app and adobe air as well and reinstall but no luck. Any ideas?

Let me hide FriendFeed items from thwirl

It'd be nice to expose Friendfeed's "Hide this" feature from within thwirl. Conversations I'm not interested in tend to keep coming back when friends comment on them. I'd like to say "hide this" early on so I don't get the noise.

Thanks for the great work, thwirl's the most usable way to access Twitter and FriendFeed.
