Greetings, Seesmic folks. I'm assuming Seesmic's mission is to become a universally common communication tool in addition to its current role as a place to come for conversation with Seesmic "regulars."
I am but a small fish in this mighty sea, but I would use Seesmic with many hundreds of people if I could interact with various groups of folks without the community interactions and conversations being posted on the public timeline.
Some of these potential Seesmic conversations would be with "invatation-only" groups e.g. (1) my teen Bible study group, (2) teachers at individual school districts where I'm contracted to consult, (3) a think-tank with my national professional association, (4) individuals who are enrolled in our on-line professional study courses, (5) my family scattered all over the United States, (6) a group of stay-at-home moms in North Carolina who want to brainstorm parenting issues and ideas for enriching the lives of their young children, and (7) many more.
Other Seesmic conversations open to individuals around the world who have a common interest, but who are not interested in posting their faces and identities on the broad Seesmic timeline, e.g. (1) families, teachers, therapists, and other interested in the well-being of individuals with autism, (2) individuals with autism, (3) support group for families of individuals with significant disabilities, (4) faith communities that want to welcome individuals with significant behavior issues, (5) music therapists encountering challenges in their practice, and (6) many more.
Please let me know if Seesmic already offers this option. If not, please consider this an "offical" urgent request. THANKS!
