can i just upload a video i made using a videocam as a video reply instead of a webcam?

do i really have to have a webcam and headphone yo post a video reply? i don't have a webcam and headphones to record what i'm saying. i do have a videocam to post to seesmic. i don't see why we cannot upload video replies from a videocam. is there a way to reply without a webcam. thank you
