Just learning about seesmic... can I use it to video blog and then post it to my own site, or do our users have to access the post through seesmic?

Underneath every seesmic video is a box with the embed code. You should be able to paste that embed code anywhere that accepts html and javascript code. If you are having trouble embedding the video, send more specific details to support@seesmic.com and I can help you figure out a solution.
And, then, once the conversation is embedded on your own site, people can respond there without ever coming to seesmic.com =)
