Changed my Twitter name - now locked out of Twhirl?
I changed my Twitter account name and now I'm locked out of Twhirl. It keeps trying to log in to the old name then just quits the application before I can change the account settings.

twhirl does not support renaming a twitter account at the moment, sorry. To add your new account (and delete the old one), you have to open the accounts manager by clicking on the twhirl logo at the top left corner of a twhirl window, or by using the context menu of twhirl's dock / sys tray icon.
Select the old account name from the list and delete it, then enter the new account name into the input field and press Return. Select the new name from the list and click on Connect.

Inappropriate?Marco - thanks for the info. But here's the problem. I've tried completely re-installing twhirl on my Mac only to be prompted for my old account name's password. This Twitter account no longer exists and therefore it just QUITS the application before I can get to any of the twhirl menus.
Is there some kind of preferences file located somewhere? It seems to keep trying my old account name even in the new installation of the application. If I could get it to "forget" my old account, then I could just start new with my current Twitter account info.
Please let me know where I can find this settings file. Otherwise, I'm still completely locked out. Why does twhirl have to auto-quit on an unsuccessful login attempt? Odd.

Inappropriate?Update - after poking around further, it appears that I can access the context menu of twhirl's dock / sys tray icon, and get into the account manager and delete my old account. So I guess my problem is solved.
It still is odd that the application just quits with an unsuccessful login attempt.
Thanks for your help,
Marc

Inappropriate?Marc,
even when twhirl prompts you for the password, you can open the accounts manager by right-clicking (or ctrl-clicking on OSX) the twhirl icon in your sys tray (or dock on OSX). Then follow the instructions from my previous reply to delete the old and add the new account.
To find out where twhirl stores the accounts you added, please visit http://www.twhirl.org/faq and check the "Where does twhirl store my configuration?" question.

Inappropriate?twhirl does not support renaming a twitter account at the moment, sorry. <--><-- cute but not at all obvious. Also totally missing from the standard mac menus. Non-conformant with apple user interface guidelines.
That said, you did fix my problem!
I’m elated
