How to install Twhirl on Linux?
How do you install Twhirl on Linux? Your main page says that Twhirl only supports Windows and Mac. It also says that it runs on the Adobe Air platform. However, if this is the case Adobe Air is currently close to being released for Linux (see http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/air/). If so, will Twhirl be available for basically all platforms (including Linux) soon officially (Linux, Microsoft Windows, Mac OS) since Twhirl runs openly on Air? Hmm, I like this last sentence.
If so, when do you anticipate a release date or an announcement? Are people already running Twhirl on Linux? By reading Seesmic, it appears users in your community are. If so, I just wanted to get some feedback on what to expect!
Thanks a ton!
Craig

Inappropriate?Well this is how I had to do install Twhirl on Ubuntu and Debian (I have two systems and I was curious, okay?!). So here we go:
Mossy on over to get Air on Adobe's site:
http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/air_l...
1) We're going to download it.
As of today the active link on the above page to the binary file is: http://download.macromedia.com/pub/la... as of whenever YOU see this, it may be different. Either way, get the BINARY file and DOWNLOAD IT (do not OPEN IT DIRECTLY from the SITE).
Open a command line and go to the directory where you downloaded the file to. Now type:
chmod +x adobeair_linux_a1_033108.bin
Note: This will make the file executable so your system can run it.
Next execute it! This will install it.
Oh, sorry. Here:
./adobeair_linux_a1_033108.bin
Ta da! You know how to do the rest. Installation finished.
2) Now time to install Twhirl. You can't install it using the big box on the main page, sorry. You need to download it and install it from your Linux machine. It wasn't going to be that easy, now was it?
Mossy on over to http://twhirl.org/project/twhirl and click "Download and Install the Latest Release" and Save The File to your local machine.
Find it. Double click it. Click install. Everything else should be familiar from here on out!
3) You're all set and running Twhirl. What are you waiting for? Don't you have some socializing to do?
