from http://snipurl.com/2902g :
This is just a short tip for all users of twhirl who are on Windows Vista. If clicking a link in twhirl opens Internet Explorer, although ou did not configure it as your default browser, the following workaround from Adobe might help.
Go to Start > Default Programs > Set Program Access and Computer Defaults, expand Custom, select the radio button next to the application you want to set as the system-wide default browser (for example, Mozilla Firefox) and apply the setting.
from Adobe AIR 1.0 release notes
There’s no guarantee that this will work, but you should give it a try.

Inappropriate?I tried this, and it worked for a little while. Now, nothing happens when I click on a link in twhirl. I am running v.0.8.1 on Vista, with Firefox 2.0.0.14 running as the default browser.

Inappropriate?I have the same problem but, I use flock 1.1 on windows vista and setting flock as default still opens IE (yuck) and not flock. this gets annoying to have to ether read the artical in IE or copy past to Flock. and if I have one IE open and click on another link it opens a second IE as well as a tab in the open IE browser window. any help to get this solved would be helpful and other suggestions?
I’m sad

Inappropriate? This worked for me ... specified FireFox (and Thunderbird, while I was at it) and *HeyPresto!* all good.
Now the fact busybody Vista put icons on my desktop for those two without need / without asking, well, that's just how Vista is. *snort*
I’m a satisfied camper.

Inappropriate?I have the same problem in Ubuntu 8.10. Default browser is Flock but all links in Twirl opens FF3. Where does Adobe Air get/store default browser data?
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?I'm having this problem with Twirl on my Mac. Every time I click on a link it opens TextMate which then tells me, "This version of TextMate does not support “twurl.nl” in its URL scheme."
I have to copy paste into a browser for links to work. This only happens on one of my macs. My other macs work fine.
I was just looking for the Preferences file but couldn't find it.
How do I force it to open a real browser? My default browser is Safari.
I’m frustrated.

Inappropriate? On Ubuntu Linux this is a common problem to each Air application. Anyone has any idea where Air keeps it's settings under linux?
-
Inappropriate?I guess Air uses the xulrunner executable binary directly 'cause I change the symbolic link in /etc/alternatives/xulrunner to point at /usr/bin/xulrunner-1.9.1 and now it open Firefox 3.5 :)
-
Inappropriate?I used this command to change xulrunner default:
sudo update-alternatives config xulrunner -
Inappropriate?changing xulrunner to 1.9.1 didn't do anything for me. would be great to have seesmic links open in ff 3.5 . surely there's some way to make that happen?
I’m frustrated
