Periodic Re-Post of Special Projects, Recurring Issues, or Theme
The idea is primarily administrative, for Seesmic support staff. The feature request is to set a post to periodically be injected into the Public Timeline, in order to orient new users or remind new users of various features, functions, projects, resources, or other tips for optimizing the Seesmic experience. For example, every 12 hours or 18 hours (in order to reach both day and night shifts) the post that Thomas made, requesting FAQ's from the community, would automatically appear in the public timeline again, to increase the chances of it being seen and offering new groups of users the chance to contribute.
Why do this? Because when posting such a request only once, persistent exposure to the topic is dependent upon the first few minutes of users who either Follow Thomas or happen to spot the post on the public timeline. This is fine for most Seesmic uses, but for certain administrative messages or projects, the standard usage model will tend to allow the message to be lost in the thought stream. Of course, such a feature would need to be used sparingly, so as not to even remotely appear as SPAM to the average user. That said, "insiders" at Seesmic would surely notice the repetition more than others and therefore should be consulted as to suggested tolerable message length and repost frequencies.

Thanks for taking time to make this suggestion. It's a difficult idea to implement. As you said, it would be all too easy for these type of reposts to seem like spam.
Our current solution is to include these @askseesmic topics in the list of featured videos which is consistently viewable from the main seesmic interface.
That said, I appreciate the feedback, and will bounce the idea around to determine the best solution to the problem. If you have any other specific ideas, I certainly welcome additional comments on this thread. -
