Shortcuts, please!
Like GMail, Google Reader and others, why not having shortcuts on twhirl so that someone could use keyboard instead of using mouse for moving/clicking?

Inappropriate?Hi Luciano,
There actually are a number of keyboard shortcuts that we need to document. Thanks for pointing that out. I'll write them up and either post them here, or link you to them (until they get into documentation on a release).
Thanks! -

Thomas,
The shortcut I have loved most so far is Ctrl X. Run twhirl all day long and need to purge it from time to time. Just missed a shortcut to "mark all visible itens as seen". That might be Ctrl - (minus) -
Thomas, I'd love shortcuts to "mark all visible as read" and "clear all visible" and "clear tweets I have already read" -
One note: in Windows XP F12 only opens the input box. If is already open it does not toggle. -
Inappropriate?Am I missing something or is there no shorcuts to read the tweets? Let's say I get 20 tweets. How do I start at the top and go down in order and read them and mark as read as i go? Am I missing something? That should be the most important shortcut of all

Inappropriate? For bonus marks (and cookies), a keyboard shortcut to hide all windows would be very handy (then I can read tweets, and hide the windows, relying on the popup notification thereafter).
If you really want a lot of cookies (and maybe a medal), a shortcut to activate all windows (same as clicking on systray icon) would be super, though I don't know if that's possible in AIR. -
cgarvey - Those requests would be related to the operating system AIR (and Twhirl) are running on, and not something that can be controlled from within the application. (Both of these *do* work on OS X. I'm not sure about XP or Vista.) -
Thanks for the update. My understanding is that the AIR app code has handlers for systray events (MouseEvent.CLICK, I presume). So when a Twhirl window is open (has focus), it should be easy fire that event for a given key sequence. The event obviously works (because clicking the systray icon shows/hides the Twhirl window(s)). So it should be easy hide active windows on Windows OS.
Activating/showing the windows, when the Twhirl app doesn't have focus, is a different scenario, however, and I accept that's probably down to AIR.
What key sequence to show/hide windows work on OS X? -
I'll check in with Marco to see if there is anything he can hook into. Hopefully I'm wrong! (And, on OS X, cmd+H hides the active application and cmd+Tab (to Twhirl) activates all windows.) -
Great, thanks again. Virtual cookies on the way for the OS X shortcuts, will get to play with them later! This blog post http://url.ie/eql probably describes what I'm trying to, much better than me :)
Again, thanks! -
Inappropriate?Would it be rude to ask if there was any more consideration given to a shortcut, on Windows, to hide/close to system tray?
Cheers! -
Inappropriate?I also, would like to see these shortcuts added:
Clear seen tweets.
This I can purge old items an focus only in new ones that have arrived.
I’m happy
