Twhirl forgets accounts and wont save settings
I have found two bugs in twhirl for me, that started when i upgraded to 0.8.4, started using identi.ca, and did a wipe and reinstall then migrate of my mac.
bug 1. Whenever i start twhirl, it only remembers my twitter account name, and always forgets the password. It forgets my Seesmic, Friendfeed, and identi.ca accounts, even though i enter them in, and tell them to remember the accounts and passwords, and to open those accounts when opening twhirl. This is annoying because i have to reenter all my accounts each time i run twhirl.
bug 2. I like to crosspost my tweets to pownce and jaiku, and that is one of the reasons i use twhirl. Whenever i go into the settings for twitter, and try to resetup crossposting (which got disabled as part of this bug/update) it won't let me save the settings, only click cancel.

Inappropriate?Upon reboot this AM, only my Identi.ca account came up, and it forgot my password. After I re-entered a couple Twitter accounts and a FriendFeed account, I proceeded to try and make some config. changes. However, it would not allow me to save them. I decided to exit and restart Twhirl, but then it again forgot everything I just entered (except for the Identi.ca account). Help!!!
I’m frustrated!

I fixed this problem with a TOTAL uninstall... including deleting registry entries and all associated folders (e.g., under Documents & Settings...Application Data in Windows). A pain in the butt, but it worked. Good luck. -
Tried it. Deleted EVERYTHING from the Mac related to twhirl. Didn't help. -
Inappropriate?I fixed this on my (Vista) system by creating a "Documents And Settings" folder at the C:\ root level; (Vista says it will get mirrored and it doesn't actually appear, but it seems to help). Then I removed the config files from Twhirl - there's a FAQ on their website on where they live.
Sorted it for me.

Inappropriate?I have been waiting for awhile and still haven't gotten an answer. Please help or I'm going back to Twitterific (which I don't want to have to do)
I’m grr

Inappropriate?Update on my Twhirl peril (that I wish i was getting a little more help with :-( )
It still forgets all passwords, and when I look in the log files, when it is trying to remember the passwords, it says "General Internal Error" which isn't very helpful.
I still cannot save twitter and identi.ca settings.

Inappropriate?I think that I encountered this problem when I deleted most of the information stored in my keychain (I was taking my MacBook in for repairs).
I found a partial solution on the Won't Save My Login Settings thread.
After following Marco's recommendations, twhirl is now remembering my authentication details.
It's still forgetting the position of the various windows, which it remembered before.
I’m mostly happy

this solves the problem

Inappropriate?Actually, I think that not remembering the screen position is a separate issue.
I use two displays. My laptop display and second monitor. When I place the twhirl windows in the laptop display, it forgets the screen position, but works fine when I place them in the monitor display.
I’m intrigued

Hi Jeff, yeah, AIR currently does not handle window positioning on multiple screens very well.
