Twhirl launch and shutdown problems [OSX]
[This was originally reported on Trac system, and also to info@twhirl.org.]
Hi-
Twhirl is a very nice twitter client, but I've been having some significant problems.
I had it working find with 0.7.5, but on trying to upgrade to 0.8 (Mac Pro, OSX 10.5.2) things seem to have gone haywire. Now I can install but the application just sits in the dock with nothing happening. Worse, this state of affairs seems to have corrupted my whole machine: I can't launch any new applications at all! When I try to shutdown the machine just gets into an endlessly cycling state (which luckily I can stop with the power button and then a reboot is OK).
So -- help!
What's strange is I have it working fine on other accounts on the same machine (and another OSX 10.5.2 machine) so it's something specific to this setup.
Any ideas?
Andrew

Inappropriate?Hi Andrew,
thanks for your report. twhirl shouldn't be able to cause these problems on your machine, as it lives in a controlled environment, created by the Adobe AIR runtime.
Have you tried un- and re-installing twhirl and/or the Adobe AIR runtime? Do you get any error messages or reports that twhirl has crashed?
I’m trying to find out what causes this
