Twhirl Tweet window doesn't update w/o minimize

I'm having problems with twhirl since the 0.8 update. when I start twhirl, it gives me the information about the tweets, replies, and dm's, but doesn't actually display them. If I minimize the window, and then open again, it'll show the content correctly.

I'll get the messages that I have new tweets, but again, they won't display until I minimize and reopen the window.

This happened this morning. I restarted twhirl, and it worked fine for the rest of the workday.

I got home, started twhirl again, and now get the same hang problem. I tried restarting, this time same problem. I tried opening the twhirl application window, and it hung entirely; I had to quit from taskmanger.

This is on Windows XP, all the latest patches. Not sure what other info to provide. Twitter user @smd
