Was able to log in before but now I can't
I've been using Twirl for a few weeks now, with no problems. I was using it earlier today. Then, this evening, it suddenly wouldn't log me in. When I give it the right password, it just hangs there. If I give it the wrong password, it tells me it's wrong.
I can log in to my Twitter account from the web without any issues.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and still get the same thing.
I also tried rebooting my machine, still the same.
I like Twhirl, but I can't use it like this.

Inappropriate?I have the same problem. Very annoying. I love Twhirl, and now I cant log in. Looks like others have the same drama. Please fix. Thank you!
I’m sad

Inappropriate? It is really annoying. twhirl is great client for twitter,; light weight, easy to use and fast sync. But its not working now. Please help!

Inappropriate?I also have this problem. I downloaded twirl on a new laptop today and it isn't letting me log in.
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?I'm getting the same issue. I wondered if the issue is to do with the Twitter API rather than Twhirl as such, but (a) the Twitter Status page says that the API is fine, and (b) I've just installed TweetDeck (another Twitter client running on Adobe AIR) and it's working fine.
I see there's a comment from a few months back where someone at Seesmic (Thomas Knoll) in response to a similar "authentication failed" error message:
It *seems* like Twhirl's inability to login was directly related to API issues stemming from Twitters caching issues today. And, yes, we do need to implement a better way to inform you when Twhirl issues are based on a twitter failure rather than any user or client error. (i.e. "twitter is broke, not us")
That would be good. In the meantime, would be great to get Twhirl back.
I’m confused

Inappropriate? It's so odd that it would happen just like that ... very weird.

Inappropriate?I was told by a developer for another social networking web-based app that Twitter changed their API today, bringing down a majority of the desktop clients, Twhirl being one of them. Twitterific still works ... but I hate it and everything it stands for. :P
Personally, I think it'd be in Twhirl's best interests if they'd update their blog more regularly with technical issues and resolutions instead of having the community members scrambling around looking for answers themselves.
I’m irritated.

Inappropriate?updating to v 0.87 fixed the problem for me
