Why does Twhirl take proxy settings from IE only??
Why is Twhirl dependent on IE for its proxy settings? It should have its own independent mechanism..What about those using Firefox or even Opera, Chrome or Safari or anything else??

Inappropriate?I'm guessing you're referring to Twhirl running on Windows, and because of this, it'll be because Adobe AIR uses Windows' proxy settings, which is part of the "Internet Options" control panel.
This just so happens to be the way that Internet Explorer gets it's settings. Firefox, as an exception, uses it's own proxy settings. Safari and Chrome both use the built-in Windows proxy settings, which is a much better option.
I’m definitely not trying to circumvent any proxy server settings...
