Won't Save My Login Settings
Twhirl won't save my login info. Each time I reload Twhirl I have to put my friendfeed Id in and all of my Twiiter accounts.

I'm on a Mac and have had the same problem and it has been solved by these instructions, given to me by Twhirl's Marco:
thanks for mailing, this looks like a problem with AIR not being able to access the so-called Encrypted Store, which is a container provided by AIR to store data securely.
The store is located at
/Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/AIR/ELS/de.makesoft.twhirl.0EA062BC275E7ED1E6EC3762EFFD73C7158ADF33.1
Things to check:
- does the folder exist, and does it contain files called PrivateEncryptedData* ?
- is the store protected by Keychain? You have to open the Keychain manager and see if it is listed in the left column.
- if the files exist, does deleting them help? (close twhirl first, start, add accounts/passwords, and restart!)</username>
I’m very happy

If you go here C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Adobe\AIR\ELS\ and delete the twhirl folder then restart Twhirl, it should let you save your settings and passwords again.</username>

Inappropriate?I am having issues and I think deleting my settings would help. I have deleted these files, but they just reappear one i start twhirl again. How can I completely remove my settings, or completely remove twhirl from my computer?
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate? This seemed to work for me as well. Finally! Essentially, I deleted all remnants of Twhirl. BTW, I was having problems with TweetDeck, too. Anyway:
* I uninstalled the app
* I deleted the AIR folder under Documents and Settings (described above)
* I checked to make sure the folders were removed under c:/My Programs
* I went into regedit and searched on Twhirl and deleted all entries
* I reinstalled Twhirl and it's now saving my settings again.
Not sure if any of the above is overkill, but at least it's now working properly again!
I’m happy now

Inappropriate?nefibach's steps for Mac above worked perfectly for me! Macbook Core Duo OS X 10.5.4
I’m ecstatic.

Inappropriate?I've been having this problem for awhile on linux; it worked briefly with the 0.8.7-air11-linux version, then again stopped saving passwords when I upgraded to AIR 1.5 and twhirl 8.7. Deleting the PrivateEncryptedData* files fixed it for me.
Directory location is a little different: ~/.appdata/Adobe/AIR/ELS//de.makesoft.twhirl.0EA062BC275E7ED1E6EC3762EFFD73C7158ADF33.1
The file permissions and sizes were identical on the files I deleted, and the new ones created. (shrug)
I’m pleased

Inappropriate?Using AIR 1.5 and twhirl 0.9 on Linux I still have this problem. I've deleted ~/.appdata/Adobe/AIR/ELS//de.makesoft.twhirl.0EA062BC275E7ED1E6EC3762EFFD73C7158ADF33.1
and the contents of ~/.appdata/de.makesoft.twhirl.0EA062BC275E7ED1E6EC3762EFFD73C7158ADF33.1/
Still no passwords saved, no sign of any PrivateEncryptedData* files being created at all. Even 'chmodding' 777 those directories made no difference

Inappropriate?Seconding iciclethief's report. I've deleted up and including the ~/.appdata directory, with no positive results; the directory never stores encrypted data, although it does store the XML settings.
I’m confused

Inappropriate?same problem here. i'm on windows xp and the els directory is always empty. i think that's causing the problems.

Inappropriate?I have a solution!
There was a missing registry key on my system;
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User
Shell Folders\AppData
I created this key using regedit and set its value to %USERPROFILE%\Application Data. Its of the type REG_EXPAND_SZ.
Now *all* adobe air apps are working on my machine! Spaz, Tweetdeck, Twhirl. I'm a happy man.
I’m happy
