How to send email in Outlook but not download new mail
Having turned off the auto-sind/receive in Outllok, I ran into a problem. If I needed to send an email I would get email in the inbox, I would inevitably read it.
I found a neat button for the toolbar or menu in Otlook - "Send All". It does not retrieve. So I can now get on with my work, still email people when I have to, and not get distracted by incoming email!

Inappropriate? That's a great tip, Jerome! Thanks for sharing : ). It won't work for users of Microsoft Exchange who go offline, but they can achieve a similar end by switching to online mode very quickly--the sending will always take place before all other sync's.
Cheers!
