application name in shout
A suggestion: note the client software used when the API is accessed. I was just thinking about when icecondor will be able to autopush checkins to shizzow. Then I thought about the shout message and adding a signature of 'icecondor etc'. i realized immediately is a terrible idea, like the forced signatures in yahoo email. twitter puts the name of the client software in tiny print with each tweet. having that for shizzow messages would be a good way to give back to the app developers.
A unique identifier for each client application is integral to OAUTH so shizzow's OAUTH adoption might be a good time to think about adding this.

Inappropriate?Great idea Don! We definitely want to recognize the cool apps that are in the process of integrating with Shizzow. We're in the pencil and paper stages of implementing oAuth for the API, but as soon as we do we will definitely include the app name in the Shout message on the site, as well as through shout results retrieved through API calls.
Cheers,

Inappropriate?Hi Don,
Shizzow shouts now list the application name in the shout on www.shizzow.com, as well as within the Shout object in returned API results. This feature was released along with oAuth support for the API. Currently, Shizzow only records applications that shout using oAuth. We will soon implement similar support for applications that shout using Basic Authentication.
More details on using oAuth for API authentication may be found here:

Cheers,
Ryan
