Can I transfer a blog from one user account to another user account?
If I want to start a blog for a client, is it wise to start it in my TypePad Pro account -- where I have an unlimited number of blogs -- if eventually I'd want to move or transfer the blog to an account at TypePad set up just for the client?

Hi Douglass!
Right now, there isn't a way to move a blog from one account to another. You'd need to Export the posts from the current account and Import it into the client's account, which can cause some issues with design, since design does not transfer.
Essentially, images and files uploaded to posts aren't included in the export file, so they would need to be re-uploaded to the client's account. If you're using Basic Templates for that design, you'd want to note any pertinent information, like style, layout, colors, etc. If you're using Advanced Templates, you can copy the templates into a text file and then paste them into the new blog. So it can be done, but the process is a little complicated.
Information on Exporting content is available here:

We hope this is helpful! Let us know if you need clarification on anything.
Thanks,
Melanie

Hey Melanie. I too want to be able to create blogs for clients. Simple templates where I can transfer everything into their account. Is this in the works? Sure would be handy. Buddy Snipes -

Inappropriate?Buddy - sometimes I sign up using my own email, then transfer it to the clients emails (turning the keys over, as it were) when I do this. I'd be interested to hear what other people who do client work have to say, though, about their experiences!

That's a clever way of dealing with the issue. But it still means that I have create the blog from scratch. The blogs I will be doing for clients will all be pretty much the same only personalized for them. I would like to simply be able to duplicate the entire blog under another account and personalize there. Am I making any sense? (some days I just never know...) -
working with a flexible layout, like Journal, and customizing each with CSS from there might be the way to go. I'm all ears if someone has a better idea.
