Drafts have lost Timers...
Running Typepad Pro acct with over 45 writers and the other day our writers lost the ability to put a date/time on a draft. This has put our site in chaos. The editors cannot find what posts each writer means to go out for the due date.
http://www.takerootandwrite.com/
Most of our writers go in and draft up a bunch of articles at one time or at their leisure so its there by the Editors given deadline. We have like 5-7 articles publish a day a day. (each column has its posts time)
Guest Writers only get 2 choices, Draft or Publish Now. We do not want guest writers to have the Publish Now option, it needs to be a Publish On or turned back to a timer /date on the Draft.
This is HUGE for us on our site. I had put in a help ticket but feel like its getting put on the shelf.
This also happened with out any warning.
I REALLLLLLLLY need a solution for this. HELP!

Inappropriate?Hi Noelle-Mena - we've seen this change too, and we're working on a fix for this. It might take a couple of weeks, though, but I'll see how we're doing.
-
Inappropriate?Hey hey, Plz say this is not weeks! We have almost 50 drafts in there right now. Does business class still have that option??
When I put in the help ticket it was more like it done on purpose, like it was a good thing, not a problem. This is vital to our teams sanity! Plz let me know. You can also DM me @takeRoot
Thnx so much!
I’m worried.

Inappropriate?Hi Noelle,
I'm so sorry this is getting in the way of your workflow. We are trying to provide a fix for you and other users affected by this change.
We were getting a number of complaints from users who were setting a date/time for a draft post and then didn't understand why the post wouldn't publish at that time. You see, draft posts were never meant to have dates associated with them, because dates only take effect when a post is meant to be published.
In an attempt to minimize confusion, we hid the date/time controls from draft posts. That way, if users want to schedule posts for future dates, they can use the "Schedule On" status.
But now we realize how that's impacting the workflow of users like you and we're working towards a fix. Note that any draft post that has been created before this change was made will still maintain its original date. As soon as you switch the draft post to "Publish On", you'll notice that it'll carry the desired date proposed by your guest authors.
We really appreciate your patience while while we address this issue. -
Inappropriate?Hey, Thanks for your reply :)

The thing is is there is NO "Schedule On" status for a guest writer. I can't even choose for them to see that in my preferences as the site owner. I am all for a "Schedule On" status instead of timing a draft. But there HAS to be one or the other.
Right now I only have the choice of giving them Draft or Publish Now.
You seriously don't think it will be weeks, right??
Thanks again!
Noelle
PS- Is it the same for Business Sites right now?
I’m still worried....
-
Inappropriate?in TypePad Business Class, you can designate "blog administrators", who have the ability to schedule posts. Let me know if you want to talk about checking out the business level - I'm sure we can get you a trial there to see if there's a way to make this work for you.
-
Inappropriate? Will it change anything if I do a free trial and then go back?? I am thinking the business level is too much $$ right now but we have some really exciting things happening that down the line we will most likely go that route.
We REALLY do need this whole timer issue resolved so if I could do a trial until its fixed it would be SUCH a Blessing!
Im headed out for about 30 minutes. Can email me (TakeRoot@mac.com)
Thanks!
Noelle
I’m feeling taken care of...
-
Inappropriate?Hi Noelle - we added a feature in yesterday's release that lets guest authors schedule posts now, so this should help a lot! :)
I’m thankful we could get this to workflow to be more effective.
