replying to comments via e-mail
Why is it that when I send e-mail responses to the comments on my blog I have extra HTML and the hotmail ads included? Even though I've deleted all of that before I've sent it on to Typepad's response address. Any help on this? On the old format I was able to edit my comments, but on this new format that option is not available. I am previewing the new format and so far I like it, but I don't like that I can't edit my own comments. However, I do not intend to edit others' comments.

Inappropriate?A great sadness has visited everyone you see. Let's do what we can to eliminate that sadness, together!

Inappropriate?Um....so you are having the same problem? I'm terribly confused by this answer. :-)
I hope it is clear that when I respond from my e-mail I do it so a copy goes to my commenter and to my blog.

Inappropriate?I think it must be copying the images from your email program - is there a way for you to send it in a simple format (text only) until we find a way to strip those out?

Your answer actually solves a related problem I've been having, which is that I've never been able to post a reply to someone's comments on my blog at all. But your response gave me the idea to convert my response email to text only—which worked like a charm. I could be missing something, but in all the notes and directions on how to reply to a message via email, I haven't noticed the requirement that the message be plain text. I still haven't been able to hit reply while logged into typepad and reviewing the comments. Could it be a mac/firefox issue? -
