stop google indexing my blog
Why is there no way i can stop google and other indexers not indexing my blog... My blog is for my family however not all of them want to sign up as there should be no need for it. however one easy thing one can do is to stop the site being indexed by google. This can be done in several different ways but not on VOX...

On Vox when you're creating a post you can choose to share it with only your friends and/or family which will cause it to not be public. This in turn would mean that it isn't indexed by search engines. I don't believe that there is the ability in Vox to post content publicly while prohibiting search engines from indexing it.

Inappropriate?Doesn't the "Not Publicized" disable indexing? From the KB
"Setting a weblog as “No” for publicity means that code will be added to prevent Google and other search engines from indexing the pages. To update the archive pages with this code, publish all files for the weblog with the Publish button on the Design tab for the weblog"
I think if your blog has been upgraded to the new system you can omit the re-publish step as there is no publish button.
Set this at:
Blog > Configure > Publicity > Publicity Preferences > Publicity Status > Not Publicized -
Inappropriate?hmm that's strange as i did all of that when i signed up a couple of months ago and Google still indexes everytihng all the time.. I don't think that i have been updated to the new system as i can't find the settings that you describe...
i only have "privacy and defaults" and the choice to "Exclude all new content from appearing in search and public explore pages" and it has been enabled since i signed up.. -
Inappropriate?Isn't he "no" for indexing just for VOX indexing and VOX search engine?

Inappropriate?Sorry, my mistake, was thinking of TypePad settings not Vox.

Yes that's all good but I just want to be able to post openly and stop google indexing. Its nothing new and its a feature that WordPress and other blogs have.. anyway..
