trips vs routes
I'm confused. Is a route added to a trip, or is it separate from trips? Why can't I add a route to a future trip? (I want to repeat my practice on thursday, but the route box doesn't come up when I go to that trip)

First off, sorry for the confusion! There are a couple causes for this user behavior:
1) Have you added specific activities (e.g. rock climbing) to your future trip? If you add the activity then you can add the routes. We did this to prevent having a ton of option buttons show up for activities you might not be participating in on a trip.
2) Are you trying to add a goal (e.g. Half Dome hike in Yosemite) to a future trip? We will be releasing goal support for more activities soon. For now please, track them once the trip has started.
Can you send me your trip URL or screenshot so I can further help troubleshoot?
I've added a couple screenshots of how you can select your activities on a trip and see the route button for a climbing trip.
Hopefully that's helped answer your question but let me know if that isn't the case.
