Sorting suggestions by popularity
It doesn't look like there's a way to sort the suggestions within the admin interface based on the number of people who like them. Now that I've got a couple of pages of suggestions, sorting on popularity would help me identify the topic my readers want most.

Inappropriate? Thanks for the suggestion Doug, we'll keep this in mind. Are there any other admin tweaks that would make using it simpler? We have a few other things in the pipeline that should help with administrative tasks.
Thanks,
Paul -
Inappropriate? Can you make the "Update Suggestion Status" form submit both the message and the status change at the same time?
Having some way to control which suggestions show up in the view users see would be useful, too. Something simple like "Most popular", "Most recent", etc. would do it. It seems random right now, and from what I can tell users aren't clicking through for the whole list.
Thanks, I'm still very happy using skribit for this sort of feedback. -
Inappropriate?Doug - yeah we personally feel that form is kinda odd itself. We originally had them as separate things, then put them in one form and need to make it one action now.
As for the admin page itself, I just coded up the ability to sort by # of suggestion followers, alphabetical, recent suggestions, status, and author (wont make it up to the server for a few days tho). As for the view that users see, that's a good idea. Do you mean that you get to pick the default view for the users page? Or just that the users have a link to sort that page however they like as well? -
Inappropriate?I meant that I wanted to be able to influence what the users see by default. For example, I had an item that I marked as "not gonna happen", but it was gaining popularity because it kept showing up on the default list. I have a strong suspicion that most users don't click through to your site, and only interact with the view that shows up on my blog. That's OK with me, but it means the little red dot for the item status wasn't explained, so they kept voting for it until I deleted it.

Inappropriate?Oh, and thanks for adding the sorting feature so quickly! I'll watch for an announcement when it goes live.

Inappropriate?Doug - ohh, do you mean the list view on the widget itself? I was thinking you meant the blog profile ex: http://skribit.com/blogs/paulstamatio... but I guess having that ability for both would be handy.
Currently the widget uses a 2+3 layout. The first 2 have the most "hotness" and the last 3 are random, if I recall correctly. Hotness being calculated by something along these lines: http://uggedal.com/reddit.cf.algorith...
I’m happy

Inappropriate?I want to sort the management view and influence the widget contents. I don't think the widget contents need as much control, but it isn't clear how items are selected for display right now. Are they just the most recent topics?
-
Inappropriate?Duh, I should have finished reading your post. :-)
-
Inappropriate?Hotness and random seems like a good default. Maybe filter out rejects without forcing them to be deleted? If I delete something, my readers can't advocate for it through comments.
-
Inappropriate?would like: a flag/ checkbox to indicate that a topic shouldn't be displayed on the widget.
