We've been paying a close attention to our users and how they're using Skribit, and it's common to hear them ask 'How do I get my readers to make suggestions?', so I thought it'd be great to have a place to share tips on how to do this.

Inappropriate?I'll start off. It's a good idea after you've added the widget to blog about it. A lot of readers read blogs through RSS feeds, and will not know that you are using Skribit. Also, if you're widget is below the fold, your readers just might not know it's there. Making a post about it will let all your readers know that you're using Skribit, and that you're wanting your readers to give you feedback.

Inappropriate?It helps to have a large number of readers, and also to actually respond to their Skribit suggestions by blogging about them.

Inappropriate?Also, seed your widget with suggestions. It gives readers some ideas of what kind of suggestions you're looking for, and gives the feel that people are using the widget.
It's a lot like how after a presentation, when it comes time for Q&A, there's always a hesitation for the first question. But after that they start coming pretty quickly.
