Why can't I get rid of that 'lightbox'?

Running on WP 2.7, used the autoinstaller to load Skribit - can't get rid of the lightbox. Tried unchecking the box on the options screen (repeatedly!) - just gets turned back on again when I hit 'update settings'. I'm removing Skribit - let me know when you've fixed this & I'll give it another try if I haven't found something else.
