My new skype online number is already in use by someone else
I just signed up for a skype online number and when I called it, someone else already has it. I've wasted four hours screwing around with skype trying to find any support to fix skype taking my money and giving me a number that already belongs to someone else. I confirmed that it is not a crossed line. I read my new skype number off my account page to the person who answered and they confirmed that the number has been there number for over a year and it is not a skype number.

Inappropriate?I was 'lucky'. My one-year subscription SkypeIn number worked for six months before their 'partner' stole it to sell to someone else for use as a fax line! What we need to find a way to do is contact their VOIP network partner directly - in my case I highly suspect it is Level 3 Communications, L.L.C. in Apple Valley, MN. (that's LLC as in 'Limited Liability' for a reason!) They don't make it easy. The phone menu has 'portal account number' blocks all over the place. If anyone finds a way to contact them thru their website - http://www.level3.com/index.cfm?pageI... - please post it!
