Sleepy Dogs, I really like Lifecast ... but it was crashing. I uninstalled & re-installed, but the app hangs when I try to add a Blog. It says "downloading settings..." and that's it.
Any suggestions? Using a 3G iPhone and your newest version. thanks - rekzkarz.com
I'm having problems setting up Blogger. It keeps telling that there is an authenication error. I know the username and password are corerct, because i can log in to blogger with them
I just got LifeCast tonight (12/27) and I'm trying to set it up with my Blogger account. When I go to put in my information, the little Windows-style frump noise happens and tells me that there is an Authentication Error & the details I supplied were incorrect. Well, they weren't & I wanna know why LifeCast thinks they are!
Does LifeCast work with Movable Type Version 4.xx, as I continuously get Authentication Error, although the username, password and endpoint is correct.
While I was away on holiday recently in Portugal, I was writing new Blog posts but away from any net access. I didn't see this as a problem, as I was sure I'd find free WiFi at some point. Actually this was much more difficult than I thought.... access is VERY sparse there, and interestingly I later saw a bit on TV about broadband access throughout Europe, and they have the lowest penetration, so I guess that answers why I couldn't find any WiFi points! :)
Anyway, at one point I did find what looked like an Unsecured WiFi point and thought I'd quickly send a few blog posts that I had written. The problem was that although the iphone did connect, it was one of those, have to pay for access connections.
And more specifically, Lifecast didn't seem to check that the posts were REALLY posted... it just seemed to send them into the void :(
Now that it THINKS they have been posted, it shows a tick against the post, and I can't now resend them :(
Can I suggest that either the software needs to check somehow that the posts have REALLY been posted, or there definitely needs to be a "RePost" option.
Or maybe a "copy" option to a new post, maybe even to your other blog accounts... now that would be good ;)
Now I'm going to retype all the posts... and of course, typically they were nice long ones!
Unless anyone has any other suggestions of course?
I've had a few issues where Lifecast seems to have just forgotton or confused my Blog settings in the past, but by deleting the blog settings and re-entering has always sorted the problem.
But this time, both my Blogger and Twiiter lifecast accounts failed to work, but the program simply refuses to download new available blog settings, so I can't actually put my correct details back in :(
This seemed to happen after I did the latest Lilfecast version update.
I don't want to try uninstalling and reinstalling in case it loses all my current posts. I've just been holiday, away from net access, and I really want to get these posts uploaded to my blog asap.
I tried added a photo post, and after thinking for a minute, it gives me an error:
"Posting Error
There was an error posting this event to the blog.
unauthorized
Please verify the blog configuration"
Is there something i'm missing here?? I registered with Picasa and to be honest, there aren't many credentials on setup for blogger, so i don't know what i could have missed!
When you post with TwitPic you can add a tweet before you upload your image. It would be nice if LifeCast would allow you to do a similar thing. (BTW, very nice job on the posting images to Twitter mechanism!)
I am only posting to Twitter so I can't speak to other blog postings but after pressing "Post to Blog" I don't always get a check mark in the lower right hand corner.
Returning to the Entries List, there isn't a check mark there either but checking my Twitter account, the post was made successfully.
When Twitter is one of the blogs configured there should be some visual cue that you've reached your 140 character limit. You can keep typing but it should be obvious that only the first 140 characters are going to Twitter.
It would be nice if LifeCast would return to the Entries List after posting a blog.
1. This eliminates having to manually click back to it.
2. Since there is no other way to start an Entry except on the Entry List page, it allows you to create Entries more quickly.
3. As it stands, speaking only for Twitter posts I've made, you post and then the only visual cue you get is a tiny check mark in the lower right hand corner. But then the page just sits there... it feels very anti-climactic. Returning to the Entries List after posting elicits a sense of excitement (however small, it's there - I design workflows for a living so I have to be aware how people react to software / systems ;^D ) that makes you want to start another Entry. Remember, the more LifeCast makes it easier to post, the more peple will use it.
Trying to sync Lifecast iphone app to a wordpress blog...and keep getting the same Authentification Error. Is there a troubleshooting or FAQ page on setting up Lifecast with wordpress?
I'm smart enough to take good pictures but can't make Picasa work. I want to email pix. Windows XP. I follow instructions but can get only as far as putting pix in tray, hitting email icon, and getting a blank full page presumably from my default email Yahoo that says 'compose'...no cursor, no places for addressee, absolutely blank; no indication of where trayed pix are, for attachment...nothing. This is not an excess photo-load problem.
Problems with posting to Tumblr. I get 'There was an error posting this event to the blog. Internal server error. Please verify the blog configuration'. The post does actually make its way to tumblr though. I'm using Lifecast 1.3.2
I like the Lifecast iPhone app , but I want to post a photo and text in the same blog posting (to Blogger). Is that possible now? If not, will it be added later?
It would be great if LifeCast let me edit my posted posts, like correcting a typo or adding some data. If this edition could be made at HTML level too (like Blogger's online editor) I would touch Heaven with my hands.
For example, I really love ScribeFire in my Firefox.
