Lifecast - text + photo at the same time?
I like the Lifecast iPhone app , but I want to post a photo and text in the same blog posting (to Blogger). Is that possible now? If not, will it be added later?

Inappropriate?Exactly the very first question i asked about the application. I'm pretty sure anything is possible in that posting department - the simple ui might need a default options list to be able to trigger that style of event (add picture and txt)
This suggestion would be high on the list of features - i think there is a need also to be able to select what blog on blogger (if you have multiple ones) as well so yes. Good Call. Guessing that one of the developers will post if that is possible but i do not see any reason why not! - hang tight.
I’m happy you asked!

Inappropriate?Hi
Yes - as Phil said - the ability to mix text and [in this case] an image is high on our 'todo' list. Over the next week or so the development team will be prioritising requests such as this, so hang tight we are determined to make LifeCast as useful as possible for as many types of bloggers as we can.
Thanks for taking the time to feedback your commetns/criticism - we appreciate it very much.
Regards
D.
I’m confident we will get this kind of request prioritised highly

Inappropriate?Blogger doesn't actually allow you to directly post photos using their API. There are some workarounds that are possible, but because they aren't officially supported we have to think twice about how we're going to implement this feature.
Tumblr does allow a caption to be posted with a photo - at the moment we use what's in the Title field of the LifeCast event. Tumblr blogs are currently the only ones we support for posting photos. -
Inappropriate? Now that posting photos to blogger is implemented, is it safe to say that text and photo blog entries are just around the corner? Thanks
I’m confident

Inappropriate?Hi Heyroth
In regards to 'just around the corner' - nothing is 'safe' to say!
Mixing photo & text is of course something we wish to do and we wish to do it at the earliest possible time however there are a couple of ways it can be done. Because version 1.1 utilises Picasaweb we can implement a text post which contains a link to a picasaweb reference (i.e. an image) and that means - you guessed it - mixed text and images. However that's not the end of the story. The real thing to get right is the user experience on the phone and that's what we will be concentrating our efforts on and it's simpler said than done.
1.2 while subject to change at the moment is not due to deliver mixed text and image posts rather it will deliver Wordpress support and some more fixes.
After 1.2 it would be logical for us to implement mixed text and images in conjunction with support for standalone picasaweb functionality so that would mean being able to mix text and images in each of our implemented blogs. Stay tuned and I will post a road-map for 1.2 / 1.3 in the next few days when we have hammered it out here properly.
Regards
D.
I’m confident we can satisfy you!

Inappropriate?Just for brainstorming.
This function could be implemented like ScribeFire's (Firefox add-on, http://www.scribefire.com/)
I’m excited

Inappropriate?Sleepydog is no longer developing Lifecast.
Although only in discussion at this stage - it is possible the development may be transferred to a new 'owner' at a future date.
