Twitter character count
When Twitter is one of the blogs configured there should be some visual cue that you've reached your 140 character limit. You can keep typing but it should be obvious that only the first 140 characters are going to Twitter.

Inappropriate?Hi
We have considered using some kind of notification but to date have been unable to reach a satisfactory 'method' suitable for LifeCast; LifeCast after all can be directed at any of the services and that shouldn't be super seeded by Twitter (or maybe not). Rest assured if we come up with a suitable solution we will implement it.

D.

Inappropriate?I see what you're saying but...
You can only use one Blog service per LifeCast from what I can see.
So what about a simple ivar like...
- isTwitterConfigured : BOOL
If TRUE then just do a subString search on the first 140 characters and color them a nice blue or something. The color itself doesn't get posted to Twitter but it would be a nice visual cue of what text will be posted. The User can continue to type past the 140 characters but at least it would be obvious what was getting sent. This way you don't have to add a counter or anything just for Twitter LifeCasts... isTwitterConfigured would just be FALSE so no coloring would take place.
Just a thought...

Inappropriate?A better approach is to include in the list of services additional information.
so, for instance the twitter service tells lifecast that it has a character limit, so lifecast knows to keep the user informed. This way, the control is in the backend, and it can be supported across multiple services in an expandable way. -
Inappropriate? That sounds good to me too, Peter. ;^)
